Coulee Bank is seeking a Business Banking Specialist to join our team in our Minnetonka, MN location.


The Business Banking Specialist provides a high level of customer service and administrative, operational, and loan-support assistance to Coulee Bank’s Business Banking team. This position works closely with business bankers, customers, Loan Operations, Credit Administration, and other internal partners to support consumer, commercial, commercial real estate, construction, participation, and floorplan lending activities.


The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, responsive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced banking environment. This individual will help ensure customer and loan documentation is complete, accurate, and timely while maintaining compliance with Bank policies, procedures, internal controls, and applicable regulatory requirements.

The Business Banking Specialist will support business bankers and customers throughout the loan process, from initial requests and documentation collection through closing, servicing, renewals, and ongoing follow-up.  A Day in the Life of a Business Banking Specialist

  • Provide timely, professional customer service to business banking customers in person, by telephone, and through email.
  • Respond to routine loan and deposit questions and refer more complex questions or concerns to the appropriate business banker or operational partner.
  • Support business bankers with administrative activities related to loan requests, renewals, closings, servicing, customer follow-up, and other business banking activities.
  • Gather, organize, review, and maintain customer-provided information and documentation needed for underwriting, loan closings, renewals, and ongoing loan servicing.
  • Assist with loan input sheets, closing and renewal requirements, document signing, UCC reviews, property-tax lookups, and participation-related administrative duties.
  • Work with customers to obtain entity and organizational documents, property-insurance information, and other required documentation.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with customers, business bankers, Loan Operations, Credit Administration, and other internal partners.
  • Assist with collateral lien perfection and monitor post-booking ticklers for outstanding documentation.
  • Provide routine loan-servicing support, including customer responses regarding loan balances, interest paid to date, and payoff information in accordance with Bank procedures.
  • Assist with construction-loan disbursements by obtaining and reviewing draw requests, invoices, lien waivers, and supporting documents; preparing disbursements; and tracking activity against approved budgets and projections.
  • Provide administrative support for floorplan lending, including advances, paydowns, title maintenance, and floorplan worksheet updates.
  • Help maintain complete and accurate loan files while minimizing documentation, collateral, servicing, and other loan exceptions.
  • Follow Bank policies, procedures, security standards, internal controls, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain proficiency in relevant software and systems, complete required training, and perform notarial duties in accordance with applicable laws and Bank procedures when commissioned.

Requirements

Qualifications for the Ideal Candidate

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior banking experience required.
  • Experience in commercial loan support, loan processing, loan documentation, loan closing, loan servicing, or a related area is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and follow established Bank policies, procedures, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience with loan documentation, imaging, workflow, or core banking systems is preferred.
  • Notary commission or willingness to perform notarial duties when commissioned is preferred.

Pay Range

The hourly pay range for this position is $29.73–$38.46 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
