The Commercial Loan Portfolio Coordinator assists in the portfolio management of commercial loans, which may include Small Business Administration guaranteed loans, multi-family residential loans, and commercial real estate loans to current and potential credit union Members.
Under minimal supervision and at times in a remote setting, tracks and collects commercial loan documents and analyzes financial information of existing borrowers. Responds to inquiries from borrowers, and others, regarding the loan’s status, policies, procedures, and related issues, providing exceptional Member service. Adheres to policy and guidelines to underwrite the credit worthiness of portfolio loans. Requests required documents via mail, email, and phone and coordinates efforts to maintain completion times within stated guidelines. Tracks and records loan status through available electronic means. Monitors the Member Business Loan Portfolio for delinquency and changes in status and regularly reports to the Commercial Loan Committee.
Business Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00AM – 5:30PM*

This position is based in Anaheim Hills CA with the opportunity to work on a hybrid-remote schedule which consists of 2 days in-office and 3 days working remote from home.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience with on-line and spreadsheet data processing.
- Two (2) years of experience in lending, loan servicing, credit analysis, banking operations, or a related financial services role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal credit training and/or experience.
- Two (2) years of experience in commercial real estate lending.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in all applicable MS Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with business and community leaders as well as CU SoCal and its affiliate’s staff and management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Request, analyzes, and produces financial data related to the commercial loan portfolio.
- Performs detailed collateral valuations of properties in the Member Business Loan portfolio by analyzing current economic conditions and researching sales of similar properties.
- Makes Member calls to obtain all necessary information and clarification of financial analysis materials and resources.
- Maintains an up-to-date log of financial information on commercial borrowers to ensure receipt of current financials. Communicates with past due Members/Borrowers through mail, phone calls, and possible on-site visits.
- Manages and maintains current business relationships with all borrowers within the credit union’s portfolio.
- Cross sells and promotes credit union products and services as opportunities arise.
- Tracks loan progress through electronic system to ensure access to status is readily available to all involved.
- Tracks and collects insurance and tax payment status; tracks delinquency report.
- Provides tracking and updated information for manager’s review as needed.
- Performs basic analysis review and data entry, as needed.
- Assists processors and loan officers with interpretations of applicable policies, operational guidelines, and questions on specific loan files.
- Assist Management team with loan servicing, including, but not limited to participation loan sales.
- Effectively conveys all relevant information in a timely manner. Communicates with immediate supervisor and the team, keeping others advised of progress and/or situations. Displays behaviors that coincide with CU SoCal’s Core Values of Respect, Integrity, Innovation, Excellence and Passion by relating favorably at all levels within the organization, and externally while representing the credit union.
- Complies with all credit union policies, service standards, procedural guidelines, and regulatory compliance; and completes all assigned training.
- Supports and contributes to the credit union’s strategic plan.
- Complete understanding and active application of the C.A.R.E. 4 Guide expectations and the Brand Communications Standards Accountability Philosophy.
- Must be able and available to work a “hybrid” schedule, per business operations requirement, as needed.

Pay Scale: Min. $27.12 / Mid. $34.31 / Max. $40.37* an hour
*Actual compensation will be based on geographical location, work experience, education and/or skill level.
