Absolute Dental Services is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Removables Dental Technician to join our team. This position will focus primarily on finishing, contouring, and polishing digital and traditional dentures and partials, along with repairs, relines, and other removable laboratory work.
Whether you have previous removable experience or are looking to learn the trade, we're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, pays attention to the details, and can consistently produce quality cases within established turnaround times.
What You'll Do
Denture & Partial Finishing
- Finish, contour, smooth, and polish digital and traditional full dentures.
- Finish and polish acrylic, flexible, and other removable partial dentures.
- Finish 3D-printed dentures and removable appliances.
- Remove print supports and prepare digitally manufactured cases for final finishing.
- Perform final contouring of gingival areas, borders, tissue surfaces, and other areas as needed.
Repairs & Removable Appliances
- Complete denture and partial repairs, including fractured appliances and tooth additions or replacements.
- Perform relines and other removable adjustments.
- Fabricate and finish bite rims and record bases.
- Fabricate and finish Essix appliances and retainers.
- Fabricate and finish nightguards and other occlusal appliances.
- Assist with additional removable laboratory procedures as needed.
Quality & Case Management
- Read and accurately follow prescriptions, case notes, and production instructions.
- Inspect cases throughout the production process and identify quality or processing concerns.
- Ensure cases meet established quality standards before being submitted for final QC.
- Meet established daily production and turnaround expectations.
- Communicate case concerns or discrepancies to the appropriate manager or team member.
- Maintain accurate case tracking and follow established laboratory workflows.
Lab Operations & Safety
- Work collaboratively with other technicians, departments, and Quality Control.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
- Properly use and maintain handpieces, burs, lathes, polishing equipment, and other laboratory tools.
- Follow all laboratory safety and infection-control procedures.
What You Bring
- Previous dental laboratory experience, preferably in removable prosthetics.
- Experience finishing dentures and partials is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of acrylic finishing, contouring, polishing, and repair techniques.
- Familiarity with dentures, partials, repairs, relines, bite rims, Essix appliances, and nightguards.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize quality concerns.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to accurately follow detailed prescriptions and written instructions.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities in a production environment.
- Ability to meet productivity expectations without compromising quality.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Dependable, organized, and willing to learn new materials, equipment, and processes.
Preferred (a plus, not a must)
- Experience with digital denture and removable workflows.
- Experience working with 3D-printed dentures and removable appliances.
- Experience with removable repairs, relines, and tooth additions.
- Previous experience in a dental laboratory production environment.
Apprenticeship & Training
No previous experience? We're willing to train the right person. Apprentices with no prior removable laboratory experience will receive a 3–6 month training period to learn our processes, materials, equipment, and quality standards before taking on the full
responsibilities of the position.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand at a laboratory workstation for extended periods.
- Ability to perform detailed work requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to safely operate dental laboratory tools and equipment.
- Ability to lift and move materials and equipment associated with normal laboratory operations.
