General Foreman
The General Foreman is responsible for leading multiple crews and Foremen in the field to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and company standards. This role also leads larger, more complex projects that require advanced planning, coordination, and execution. Serving as a bridge between day-to-day field operations and site leadership, the General Foreman supports Superintendents by coordinating manpower, equipment, materials, and workflow across active jobs.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Execution & Field Leadership
- Lead and support Foremen and crews across one or more job sites
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with plans and specifications.
- Identify the critical path of projects and plan work to maintain progress and avoid delays.
- Lead and support Foremen and crews across one or more job sites
- Anticipate potential issues and proactively adjust plans to keep projects on track.
- Assist in confirming job-site conditions, access, materials, and scope alignment prior to work starting.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and customer/site contacts to ensure projects are set up for success.
Foreman Support & Development
- Serve as a mentor and resource to Foremen across the division.
- Coach Foremen on planning, execution, communication, and problem-solving.
- Develop Foremen understanding of project sequencing and critical path thinking.
- Provide guidance in handling field challenges, including crew management and discipline (in coordination with PMs and Superintendents).
- Reinforce company standards, expectations, and best practices.
Safety
- Lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, procedures, and job-specific safety plans.
- Ensure daily safety practices including JSAs, toolbox talks, and equipment inspections.
- Correct unsafe behaviors and conditions immediately.
- Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.
Operational Excellence
- Drive efficient and effective execution of work across projects and crews.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows, and field execution within the division.
- Promote consistency in how work is planned, executed, and documented across crews.
- Suggest and support implementation of improved procedures and standards.

Qualifications and Requirements
7+ years of construction field experience with leadership responsibility
Proven experience as a high-performing Foreman.
Experience supervising crews in civil construction, stormwater, or erosion control work
Ability to read construction plans and coordinate field operations
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Valid Driver’s License
