Enjoy working Monday through Friday with our Pre Kindergarten. Head Start is a federally funded preschool program delivering services to 3 and 4-year old children and their families in core areas of early learning, health, and family well-being.
Under the direct supervision of the Center Director, the Program Assistant will provide support and assistance to ensure the smooth delivery of quality child and family services to all children and families enrolled in both the Head Start and UPK programs in the Wingdale Center.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support various main office functions such as: preparing correspondence, filing, record keeping, answering phones, monitoring and ordering supplies, receiving and greeting visitors and vendors; receiving, sorting, and distributing mail/packages.
- Responsible for compiling and maintaining accurate data: preparing statistical reports; generating and coordinating regular reports, rosters, summaries, and activities.
- Coordinate and schedule UPK application and intake appointments.
- Communicate effectively with DUFSD liaisons and UPK transportation office, as directed by supervisor.
- Responsible for compiling and mailing UPK forms, paperwork, and correspondence.
- Prepare check requests and purchase orders for the Center.
- Operate various office equipment (i.e. copy machine), including general maintenance and ordering of supplies.
- Responsible for tracking staff trainings, producing completion certificates, and submitting to program administration as directed.
- Input daily attendance and communicate with families regarding absences, as needed.
- Organize materials for Center staff and families, such as Family Handbooks, teacher binders, UPK transportation, sign-in and attendance materials.
- Maintain maintenance and compliance calendars.
- Take minutes at staff and center-level meetings, as assigned.
- Provide support to other areas of the Center as deemed necessary for the successful operation of the Program, including classroom and kitchen coverage.
- Cooperate with all staff to ensure the smooth operation of the Wingdale Center.

You must have:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Office experience and/or experience in an early childhood setting.
You should have:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Associates degree or relevant college coursework preferred
