Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Class A Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of freight to couriers in the surrounding Chicagoland area and/or across designated routes, maintaining compliance with DOT regulations, and providing excellent customer service. The CDL Class A Driver will operate a heavy duty class 8 (GVWR of 33,001 lbs.+) assigned by the company.
Essential Functions:
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement
- Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery records, and inspection reports
- Communicate with dispatch regarding delivery schedules and route changes
- Adhere to all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety regulations
- Navigate using GPS and maps to ensure timely deliveries
- Report mechanical issues and assist with basic truck maintenance
Qualifications:
- Drivers must have a valid Illinois driver's license (CDL Class A)
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) - No more than two moving violations in the past three years.
- Minimum age: 21 years old
- Require 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years or 2 years in the last 5 years, aligning with industry standards.
- May be required to lift a minimum of 50lbs
- Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) testing and physical requirements and be knowledgeable of DOT regulations

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or walk for extended periods, communicate clearly with team members, and use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate tools and equipment. The role frequently requires reaching with hands and arms, as well as occasionally sitting, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, or climbing stairs. Employees must be able to occasionally lift, move, or position items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Additionally, employees must be capable of understanding and following established operational procedures for truck loading, with flexibility to work extended hours to meet customer demand.
Work Environment:
The duties of this job are performed primarily in a vehicle, and in both an office and a warehouse environment. May experience some minor to moderate level of noise due to vehicle operation and/or warehouse equipment.
Compensation: Pay Range: $25-$30 per hour (based on experience)
Hours: Full-time 40-hour week (overtime available).
Location: Local runs only; home every night.
Shift: Day shift.
