Description

Outreach is hiring a full-time Revenue Cycle Specialist to support accurate and efficient revenue cycle operations for Outreach Counseling & Psychological Services. This position supports insurance eligibility and benefits verification, claims management, payment posting, account reconciliation, and related financial activities. Working closely with Clinical Operations and Finance, this role helps ensure timely reimbursement, accurate records, and strong stewardship of client and payer information while supporting Outreach's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, authorizations, and coverage requirements for counseling and psychological assessment services, including Medicaid and Medicare.
  • Prepare and submit electronic insurance claims and track, investigate, and resolve claim errors, rejections, denials, and unpaid claims.
  • Review and post payments and remittances, maintain accurate client accounts, and respond professionally to billing questions from clients and staff.
  • Reconcile client payments and credit card transactions across the payment processor, EHR, and accounting records and support general ledger recording in partnership with Finance.
  • Maintain accurate payer, billing, and client account information and complete routine quality assurance reviews and billing reports.
  • Partner with Clinical Operations, Finance, clinicians, and the EHR Help Desk to troubleshoot billing workflow issues and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure billing practices comply with HIPAA, Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance requirements, organizational policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Identify recurring billing errors and workflow inefficiencies and recommend practical process improvements that strengthen revenue cycle performance and client service.
Requirements

  

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, accounting, revenue cycle management, or healthcare administration; behavioral health or outpatient mental health billing experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, HIPAA, and payer requirements.
  • Experience verifying insurance eligibility and benefits, submitting and managing claims, and resolving billing and claim discrepancies.
  • Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding principles as they relate to behavioral health services preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems and databases; intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. CPB, CRCR, or another relevant certification preferred.
  • A commitment to Outreach's Statement of Mission and Faith is required.
