Position Summary:

The Service Engineer Intern will support the Service Engineering team through a combination of project-based assignments and daily technical support activities. This internship provides exposure to equipment troubleshooting, field service operations, commissioning activities, maintenance practices, and customer support within the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry. The intern will contribute to departmental goals by assisting with technical investigations, service documentation, equipment performance evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives while also leading or supporting up to three meaningful projects designed to improve service processes, enhance equipment reliability, strengthen customer support capabilities, or increase operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with equipment troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintenance activities. 
  • Support service documentation, reports, and technical records. 
  • Analyze equipment performance data and assist with continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support customer and project needs. 
  • Participate in technical investigations and problem-solving efforts. 
  • Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Lead or support up to three internship projects focused on improving service processes, equipment reliability, or operational efficiency. 
  • Present project results and recommendations to leadership at the conclusion of the internship 
Requirements

  

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university (Engineering, Operations, Information Systems, Data Analytics).
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiar with spreadsheets or tracking tools (Excel, Google Sheets, or similar).
  • Ability to analyze workflows and recommend improvements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Experience with process mapping or workflow analysis a plus.
  • Interest in service delivery, operations, or continuous improvement a plus.
