Heartline Staffing is recruiting a Senior Compensation Consultant for a hybrid opportunity in Chicago, Illinois. This senior consulting role combines compensation strategy, complex client engagement leadership, large-scale project delivery, team guidance and revenue-generating client development.

The consultant will partner with senior management and HR leaders to develop compensation strategies and programs designed to support attraction, retention and motivation of talent. The position requires deep compensation expertise, strong executive-level client relationships and the ability to manage sophisticated consulting engagements while supporting the development of junior team members.

COMPENSATION
• $101,000-$200,000
• Compensation is open and determined based on experience, skills and overall fit

HYBRID WORK ARRANGEMENT
• Minimum of three days per week in the office or with clients
• Flexible hybrid model balancing remote work with in-office collaboration

COMPENSATION CONSULTING
• Develop compensation strategies, philosophies and programs addressing attraction and retention needs
• Advise senior management on compensation strategy, structure and competitiveness
• Support job architecture design and digital activation of compensation designs
• Apply expertise in incentive plan design, market-analysis methodologies and regulatory compliance
• Work with compensation-related technology and technology-enabled solutions

CLIENT & PROJECT LEADERSHIP
• Lead delivery of large-scale projects and complex client engagements
• Structure, direct, review and interpret analyses performed by project teams
• Manage multiple large-scale projects
• Manage day-to-day client interactions
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Advise senior executives on compensation matters
• Provide excellent presentations and client-facing communication

TEAM LEADERSHIP
• Provide guidance and oversight to junior team members
• Coach team members and support their professional development
• Help ensure quality project deliverables
• Apply a proactive approach to problem-solving and coaching

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
• Generate revenue by developing new client relationships
• Extend existing client engagements
• Identify cross-selling opportunities
• Support the broader business development process

TECHNOLOGY & ANALYTICS
• Work effectively in an environment that embraces AI and technology-enabled tools
• Apply Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, to consulting work
• Use analytical and data-driven approaches to support compensation recommendations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance or a related field REQUIRED
• 8+ years of compensation consulting or related HR advisory experience with demonstrated subject-matter expertise REQUIRED
• Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale projects and complex client engagements REQUIRED
• Deep knowledge of compensation strategy REQUIRED
• Deep knowledge of compensation-related technology REQUIRED
• Deep knowledge of incentive plan design REQUIRED
• Deep knowledge of market-analysis methodologies REQUIRED
• Deep knowledge of regulatory compliance REQUIRED
• Strong client relationship-management skills with experience advising senior executives REQUIRED
• Excellent communication, presentation and leadership skills REQUIRED
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint REQUIRED
• Intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to problem-solving and coaching REQUIRED
