Heartline Staffing is recruiting a Mechanical Technician - Gearboxes and Winches for an onsite opportunity in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. This position requires hands-on mechanical experience with the assembly, maintenance and repair of gearboxes, along with the ability to support troubleshooting and standard mechanical repairs in the workshop and at customer sites.

The role supports workshop repair, assembly and service operations while working with mechanical systems, customer orders, inspections, technical documentation and customer-service requirements. The technician must be comfortable working independently, interacting professionally with customers and traveling for assignments, including international travel.

COMPENSATION
• $61,000-$110,000

GEARBOX & MECHANICAL WORK
• Perform hands-on assembly, maintenance and repair of gearboxes
• Support troubleshooting activities and standard mechanical repairs
• Perform mechanical work both in-house and at customer sites
• Apply technical understanding of mechanical systems in an industrial environment
• Review technical documentation, work instructions and repair specifications
• Support inspections, process controls and final quality checks

WORKSHOP & SERVICE OPERATIONS
• Support efficient execution of repair, assembly and service activities
• Assist with planning, scheduling and monitoring customer orders, repair jobs and service projects
• Support workshop resources, equipment, tools and operational requirements
• Maintain accurate documentation of workshop activities, repairs and inspections
• Support timely and cost-effective execution of customer projects

QUALITY & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
• Support quality standards through inspections and process controls
• Help ensure completed work meets applicable repair specifications
• Participate in continuous-improvement efforts focused on productivity, quality, safety and process optimization
• Follow company policies, safety regulations and applicable industry standards

CUSTOMER & TEAM SUPPORT
• Support customer communication regarding repair status, technical requirements, delivery schedules and service expectations
• Professionally interact with customers at their locations
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, purchasing and operations teams
• Provide leadership, training and guidance to workshop personnel as applicable
• Maintain a customer-oriented and collaborative approach

TRAVEL
• Approximately 20% travel
• Travel may include international assignments
• Valid driver's license required

• Hands-on experience in the assembly, maintenance and repair of gearboxes REQUIRED
• General technical understanding of mechanical systems REQUIRED
• Ability to support troubleshooting activities and perform standard mechanical repair tasks in-house and at customer sites REQUIRED
• Valid driver's license REQUIRED
• Willingness and ability to travel, including international assignments, approximately 20% REQUIRED
• Ability to work onsite in Ponchatoula, LA REQUIRED
• Structured and independent working style with a high level of responsibility and reliability REQUIRED
• Strong communication skills and customer-oriented mindset REQUIRED
• Ability to professionally interact with clients onsite and represent the company REQUIRED
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office REQUIRED

PREFERRED
• Mechanical systems experience within an industrial environment
• Experience in customer service or technical field service
• Experience with ERP systems, including Sage
