Position: Deli Associate 

Location: Ideal Market 800 E Center St; Madisonville, KY

Employment Type: Part-Time/Full-Time | Flexible Hours 

We would love to have you join our Ideal team! We are currently hiring at our 800 E Center St; Madisonville, KY location for a Deli Associate. Applicant must be willing to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends.

This position will require you to do the following:

• Meet company standards of quality, safety, cleanliness and hospitality in providing the most satisfactory food possibly
• Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example
• Follow operational policies and procedures, including those for safety and security, to ensure the safety of all employees each shift
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance
• Have patience and continually provide exemplary customer service

Qualifications:

• Be able to communicate with co-workers and managers effectively
• Stand for the majority of your shift (approx 8 hours)
• Reach and lift up to 40 pounds
• Work around, handle, operate, and control hot equipment and products in a safe manner
• Work at a pace consistent with changing business volume and demands
• Ability to learn quickly
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as part of a team

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Physical ability to lift heavy products and work in a standing position for long hours
• Operating knowledge of weighing scales, slicers, and cash registers
• Ability to understand and follow instructions and regulations regarding food safety and sanitation
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-centric approach
• Basic math and computational skills
