Summary:

As the Intern – Quality Engineer, you will support NAI’s Quality organization with engineering activities that improve manufacturing performance and maintain compliance with applicable quality requirements. You will gain hands-on experience with failure analysis, process improvement, supplier quality, and quality-system activities.


This Internship is for Summer 2027.

Requirements

  

  • Collaborate with Production and Engineering teams to investigate and resolve quality issues.
  • Support the evaluation and disposition of defective or nonconforming material.
  • Assist with failure analysis and preparation of related technical reports.
  • Participate in failure review board and continuous-improvement activities.
  • Support supplier-quality activities and compliance with product specifications.
  • Assist with quality audits, compliance documentation, and collection of quality data for analysis.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Pursue a degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing concepts.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Communicate effectively and apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Candidates must be a U.S. Person, defined as either a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder), and must be able to provide appropriate documentation upon hire to verify this status. Please note that some positions involve sensitive customer contracts and require U.S. citizenship as a condition of employment.  

Preferred Skills and Abilities

  • Possess coursework, project, or internship experience related to quality engineering or manufacturing.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or continuous-improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrate exposure to statistical process control or data-analysis tools.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

 Work Schedule and Environment

  • Monday to Friday, Day Shift
  • Discretionary 9/80 Schedule
  • Business casual dress code

Full-time schedules for Summer internships. Approx. Start Date End of May/Beg of June. Internship salary is based on position and academic year standing.
