POSITION SUMMARY

Departmental leadership level; reporting to the Team Leader and/or Assistant Manager directed by the Thru-Put Manager. May assist in the management of one or more departmental areas. Direct and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications; while striving for quality and on-time delivery.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  •  Schedule workflow to maximize department through-put to obtain maximum PPH and personnel efficiency. Assigning correct team members to capitalize on output and carry out assignments.
  •  Verifies quality and trains workmanship; monitoring daily QC’s. Ensures quality control is being performed by inspecting random or group parts throughout the day for key quality features.
  •  Labor assignments working with Cell Leads to get jobs set up for movement; ensuring that parts are checked, manufactured correctly, and ready for the next operation, working ahead when possible.
  •  Provides updated documentation on Set-up, Part Method & Process to Engineering or support leadership, which is detailed, clearly outlined, and accurate for improvement or clarification for the next time the parts are manufactured.
  •  Attends Corrective Action meetings and addresses CA on the floor. Creates and/or forwards NCMR’s generated at the Operator level to QA and in turn accepts assignments of NCMR’s for resolution.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Degree not necessarily required; successful production manager demonstrates leadership and business acumen; understands job shop manufacturing uniqueness.

Experience: Previous experience which would demonstrate the ability to effectively carry out the essential functions of the position. Generally, this position would require several years of experience within a high level production environment.

Computer Skills Ability to use a personal computer and related programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word as well as manufacturing job shop software.
