 Job Summary

The Software Engineering & PMO Intern will support the Engineering and Program Management Office (PMO) teams by assisting with project management tasks, process documentation, and technical analysis. This role offers hands-on experience applying Agile development frameworks, utilizing project management tools like Jira and Confluence, and understanding how software projects move through the development lifecycle.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist project managers and engineering leads with daily PMO tasks, tracking project progress, and organizing deliverables.
  • Create, update, and maintain technical project documentation, release notes, and process workflows in Confluence.
  • Help manage and track engineering tasks, user stories, and bug tickets within Jira.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and sprint retrospectives.
  • Conduct related business and technical analysis to help define project requirements, use cases, and workflows.
  • Collaborate across cross-functional engineering, product, and business teams to ensure project alignment and clear communication.
Requirements

 Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time or part-time college or university student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field. 
  • Must reside in or be enrolled in Texas, Florida, New York, or Massachusetts. 
  • Available to commit to a minimum of 24 hours per week for the duration of the internship (Summer 2027).
  • Strong interest and goal to pursue a career path in technology, software engineering, or technical project management.
  • Basic familiarity with or eagerness to learn Agile software development concepts and workflows.
  • Eagerness to gain hands-on experience with project management and documentation tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • High level of detail orientation, organizational ability, initiative, and analytical thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and communication tools including email, web tools, and Google Suite.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up-to 15 pounds at times.
  • Ability to adhere to the company's hybrid work policy. This position requires a minimum of three days per week in one of our offices for employees residing within a 30-mile radius of the following locations: San Antonio, TX (HQ), Manhattan, NY, Hauppauge, NY, Boston, MA, or Pompano Beach, FL.
  • Remote workers must reside in one of the following states: TX, FL, MA, NY, CO, CT, IA, IL, ME, MD, MN, NC, NJ, OR, PA, RI, SC, VA or WI.
