Summary


Sambatek is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to support our Raleigh, NC office. This role is an excellent opportunity for a licensed survey professional who enjoys the technical and project management aspects of surveying and wants to play an important role in delivering high-quality survey products for our clients.


Our Survey team supports a diverse range of commercial projects, with a strong focus on ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys and other boundary and topographic surveying services. In this role, you will work closely with project managers, surveyors, engineers, and clients to oversee survey projects from initial scope through final deliverables.


This is an in-office position focused on survey production, project coordination, and quality control. The successful candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

 

  • Perform and oversee professional land surveying activities, with a primary focus on commercial projects and ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
  • Review survey data, field information, deeds, plats, title commitments, easements, and other relevant documents to identify and resolve potential issues
  • Prepare, review, and certify ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and other survey deliverables
  • Provide technical guidance and quality control for survey projects and deliverables
  • Coordinate with internal project teams, including civil engineers, survey staff, and project managers, to support successful project delivery
  • Communicate with clients, attorneys, title companies, and other project stakeholders regarding survey scope, requirements, and deliverables
  • Interpret and apply applicable surveying standards, regulations, and client requirements
  • Assist with project scoping, scheduling, budgeting, and resource coordination
  • Review survey drawings and documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements
  • Help identify opportunities to improve survey processes, standards, and efficiencies
  • Provide mentorship and technical support to other members of the Survey team as needed
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, technology, and best practices
Requirements
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required
  • Experience with commercial land surveying, with significant experience preparing or reviewing ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of boundary surveying principles, legal descriptions, easements, title documents, and property research.
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting deeds, plats, title commitments, and other land records
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and project team members
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or survey-related software
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Experience providing technical guidance or mentoring to other survey professionals is a plus
  • Experience level may vary; candidates with the appropriate licensure and technical experience are encouraged to apply


Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment
  • Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds
