Responsibilities
Assist with various facility and program activities that require coordination amongst security personnel, program management, customers, and external stakeholders
- Attend security meetings to discuss logistics and ongoing actions
- Provide security support during customer meetings, which requires occasional longer workdays
- Assist with drafting and updating security documentation, i.e., SOP’s, OPSEC plans, Security Test Plans, Fixed Facility Checklist (FFC’s), etc...
- Review security documentation, validate office procedures, and conduct physical security inspections
- Coordinate with the IT team to ensure hardware and software is properly documented, accounted for, and introduced into the facility space
- Assist with conducting security awareness training, briefings, indoctrinations, and educational programs
- Ensure personnel folders (electronic/hard copy) are maintained and complete (i.e., include approved Program Access Request (PAR), training records, Program Security Questionnaires (PSQs), and Program Indoctrination Agreement (PIA))
- Respond to alarms and other emergencies, which may include periodic occurrences after normal business hours and/or during nights/weekends
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Psychology, Business, Communications, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of two years of direct DoD security experience
- U.S. citizenship and a final DoD TOP SECRET clearance
- Comprehensive knowledge of security manuals, directives, and Executive orders to include but not limited to; EO 13526, DoD 5220.22-M (NISPOM), ICD 705, DoDM 5200.01, Volumes 1-4, DoDM 5205.07, Volumes 1-4, DoDI 5205.11 and DoD 8500.01
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, and Power Point)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Self-motivated, with an ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Daily, on-site support during core business hours, with occasional after-hours security support
The annual pay range for the Security Specialist is $80,000 to $110,000.
The posted pay range values provide the candidate with guidance on annual base compensation for the position, at a full time level of effort, exclusive of overtime, bonus, and benefits-related compensation, over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives.
