Position Purpose
The Facilities Technician I supports the maintenance, safety, and functionality of credit union facilities by performing routine inspections, basic repairs, and preventative maintenance. This role assists in ensuring buildings, equipment, and systems operate efficiently and safely across all locations. The position works closely with the Facilities team to address maintenance needs and support operational continuity. Through reliability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn, this role contributes to a safe and well-maintained environment for employees and members.

What You’ll Do
Maintenance & Repair Support
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment
- Complete basic repairs related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems
- Respond to maintenance requests and address issues in a timely manner
- Assist with upkeep of facilities to ensure safe and functional environments

Safety & Compliance
- Follow established safety protocols and procedures
- Identify potential hazards and report or address them promptly
- Support compliance with OSHA, ADA, and safety standards
- Maintain clean, organized, and secure work areas

Troubleshooting & Problem Solving
- Assist in diagnosing equipment or facility issues
- Support troubleshooting efforts and implement basic solutions
- Respond to urgent maintenance needs or emergencies as directed
- Escalate complex issues to Facilities leadership when necessary

Equipment & Inventory Support
- Assist with tracking tools, supplies, and facility-related inventory
- Perform basic equipment checks and maintenance
- Support coordination with vendors or contractors when needed
- Recommend repairs, replacements, or upgrades based on observations

Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
- Assist with logging work orders and tracking service requests
- Communicate facility issues and updates to the Facilities Manager
- Support reporting related to facility conditions and maintenance schedules

Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with Facilities team members and other departments
- Assist with facility-related projects, renovations, and improvements
- Support cross-functional efforts to maintain operational efficiency
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment

Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience
1+ year of facilities, maintenance, or related experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Familiarity with hand and power tools and safe usage practices
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to follow instructions and learn new skills
- Basic problem-solving abilities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Physical & Work Environment
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
- May require climbing, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
- Travel between branch locations as needed
