 Job Summary

The Marketing & PR Intern will support the Marketing Department in various communication and public relations activities. This role involves media monitoring, content creation, media list management, event support, and social media engagement. The intern will gain practical experience in public relations while contributing to Stirista's marketing efforts.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Track media mentions of the company, clients, and relevant industry news across online, print, broadcast, and social media platforms.
  • Identify key industry articles, prepare daily or weekly media reports, and flag urgent or significant coverage for the marketing team.
  • Assist in drafting and editing PR materials, including press releases, media alerts, social media posts, blog content, and website copy.
  • Conduct research, interview internal stakeholders, and adapt written content for different target audiences and channels.
  • Research and build targeted media lists for campaigns and announcements, identifying relevant journalists, bloggers, and influencers.
  • Maintain and update the media database to ensure accuracy and outreach effectiveness.
  • Provide logistical support for PR events, virtual press conferences, product launches, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Assist with event guest lists, material preparation, vendor coordination, and on-site support when applicable.
  • Help manage social media presence by scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, responding to comments, tracking key metrics, and contributing campaign ideas.
Requirements

 Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time or part-time college or university student pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Available to commit to a minimum of 24 hours per week for the duration of the internship (Summer 2027).
  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills with a solid understanding of brand voice and content strategy.
  • Strong media literacy, critical thinking, research skills, and an understanding of media relations tactics and the current media landscape.
  • Experience or interest in social media management, community engagement, digital marketing trends, and performance analytics.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and event planning or logistical support capabilities.
  • High level of initiative, self-motivation, teamwork, and a strong eagerness to learn.
  • Proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and communication tools including email, web tools, and Google Suite.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up-to 15 pounds at times.
  • Ability to adhere to the company's hybrid work policy. This position requires a minimum of three days per week in one of our offices for employees residing within a 30-mile radius of the following locations: San Antonio, TX (HQ), Manhattan, NY, Hauppauge, NY, Boston, MA, or Pompano Beach, FL.
  • Remote workers must reside in one of the following states: TX, FL, MA, NY, CO, CT, IA, IL, ME, MD, MN, NC, NJ, OR, PA, RI, SC, VA or WI.
