Responsible for managing inventory-related tasks within the store, including placing merchandise orders with vendors, receiving and logging shipments, updating inventory records, and ensuring products are available on the sales floor. This position also requires performing Sales Clerk duties when necessary, such as processing customer transactions, operating the point-of-sale system, and ensuring an excellent customer experience. Additionally, the role involves maintaining inventory accuracy, processing invoices, and collaborating with vendors to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Compliance and Safety
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards, especially when handling hot and cold food items.
- Ensure compliance with food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in food service areas.
Inventory Management
- Check inventory levels to determine reordering needs and place orders with vendors for standard stock items, supplies, or materials within established limits.
- Notify supervisor of fast-moving items that require attention.
- Record inventory changes, including mark-ups or markdowns of merchandise, according to established procedures.
- Perform physical inventory counts as scheduled, reconciling discrepancies between physical counts and system records.
- Maintain and update accurate inventory records in the store database.
- Ensure products are properly rotated and displayed on the sales floor to maintain fresh and appealing merchandise.
- Monitor waste, shrinkage, and potential theft, and assist with prevention strategies.
- Process and reconcile invoices related to inventory and merchandise.
- Assist with special inventory projects, including seasonal or promotional stock management.
- Maintain and update the store/retail inventory price book to ensure accurate pricing and product information.
Vendor and Shipment Management
- Contact vendors for information regarding the status of orders, including shipping details, returns, and product availability.
- Check-in shipments from vendors, verifying that quantities match purchase orders, bills of lading, and other related documents.
- Process damaged merchandise and manufacturer returns in accordance with established procedures.
Customer Service
- Assist customers with product selection, answer questions, and provide a high level of customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience.
Cashier Functions
- Perform sales transactions, including ringing up items for purchase, facilitating payments, and making correct change.
Retail, Stocking, and Cleanliness Duties
- Ensure the store is clean, organized, and welcoming for customers by performing general housekeeping duties such as dusting, mopping, and sweeping.
- Keep storerooms and inventory areas clean and organized for easy access to products.
- Move products to the sales floor, ensuring that merchandise is easily accessible and appropriately displayed.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience with ordering, reconciling invoices, stocking, and inventory required.
