GENERAL MONITOR JOB DESCRIPTION
The primary obligation of all CiminoCare employees is to provide excellent personalized care to all of our residents. All residents will be treated with respect and dignity. Residents’ rights will be protected and upheld at all times. Communication with residents, families and health care professionals will build and maintain the reputation of CiminoCare as a competent long term care facility, whose care standards meet or exceed those of the residential elder care industry.
SUMMARY:
The General Monitor is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and exterior environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The General Monitor provides routine observation of residents and community areas, assists with maintaining a calm and orderly environment, and promptly reports safety concerns, unusual behavior, incidents, or changes in resident condition to the appropriate community leadership.
HOURS: Sunday & Monday 4:30 p,m.-8:30 p.m.
Friday and Saturday: 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
- Calm and welcoming environment for residents and visitors.
- Provide directions and basic assistance to residents, families, and visitors.
- Assist with opening doors, directing visitors, and other non-clinical support duties as assigned.
- Report maintenance, environmental, security, or safety concerns to the appropriate department.
- Assist with emergency preparedness and evacuation procedures as directed.
Documentation and Communication
- Communicate resident concerns and unusual occurrences to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident, employee, and company information.
- Participate in shift-to-shift communication and provide pertinent information to incoming staff.
- Immediately report emergencies, injuries, suspected abuse or neglect, or other reportable concerns in accordance with company policy and applicable regulations.
Customer Service
- Treat residents, families, visitors, and coworkers with dignity, courtesy, and respect.
- Maintain a professional and positive demeanor at all times.
- Promote a resident-centered environment that respects each resident's individuality, privacy, and independence.
- Assist in creating a positive experience for residents and their families.
General Responsibilities
- Follow all company policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
- Attend required training and staff meetings.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform duties in a manner that promotes resident safety and quality of life.
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience working with older adults, in senior living, hospitality, security, customer service, or a related environment preferred.
- Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout the assigned shift.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to respond appropriately and calmly in emergency or unexpected situations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain on one's feet and walk throughout the community for extended periods.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the work environment.
- Ability to respond quickly to an emergency and summon appropriate assistance.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
