Description

 Job Summary:

The Data Operations Intern will support the Data Solutions department by learning to query large datasets, extract actionable business insights, and support various internal teams across the organization. This role offers hands-on experience using tools such as Excel, SQL, Google BigQuery, and Tableau within a fast-paced data environment.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in querying and gathering datasets using Excel, MS SQL, and Google BigQuery to support data analytics initiatives.
  • Obtain foundational knowledge of Stirista's data products and services to effectively communicate insights to internal teams.
  • Support the compilation and fulfillment of data requests to help expand product offerings.
  • Help update databases, assist with data distribution across various platforms, and support file transfers (FTP/sFTP).
  • Participate in formulating audience data proposals, building taxonomies, and mapping datasets.
  • Assist in creating data visualizations and dashboard reports using Tableau.
  • Observe daily data operations and contribute ideas to help optimize internal best practices, processes, and procedures.
Requirements

 Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time or part-time college or university student pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • Must reside in or be enrolled in Texas, Florida, New York, or Massachusetts.
  • Available to commit to a minimum of 24 hours per week for the duration of the internship (Summer 2027).
  • Fundamental knowledge of or coursework experience with MS SQL, Google BigQuery, or relational databases.
  • Basic familiarity with Excel, Google Sheets, and data visualization tools such as Tableau.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for presenting data findings.
  • High level of initiative, detail orientation, adaptability, and eagerness to learn data operations.
  • Proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and communication tools including email, web tools, and Google Suite.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up-to 15 pounds at times.
  • Ability to adhere to the company's hybrid work policy. This position requires a minimum of three days per week in one of our offices for employees residing within a 30-mile radius of the following locations: San Antonio, TX (HQ), Manhattan, NY, Hauppauge, NY, Boston, MA, or Pompano Beach, FL.
  •  Remote workers must reside in one of the following states: TX, FL, MA, NY, CO, CT, IA, IL, ME, MD, MN, NC, NJ, OR, PA, RI, SC, VA or WI. 
Salary Description
$18 / Hour
