We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Civil Project Engineer to join our growing team. The Civil Project Engineer will be responsible for supporting and overseeing civil engineering and site development projects, including site planning, grading, drainage utilities, permitting, and coordination with consultants, contractors, and municipalities for Russo Development.
The candidate chosen for this position will be based out of our corporate office in Carlstadt, NJ.
Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the VP of Engineering and EVP of Engineering and Design, review engineered drawings and specifications for site plan applications on new development projects, including site drainage, grading, utilities, landscaping, lighting, and construction details.
- Assist VP of Engineering and EVP of Engineering and Design with coordination and management of consultants responsible for the site design and development permitting of Russo’s new development projects including civil, geotechnical, traffic, environmental and other disciplines.
- Detail tracking of project status including submission dates, approval/permit status and agency coordination.
- Work with Russo’s in-house Architectural Department and third-party consultants responsible for the building design and construction permitting of Russo’s new development projects including architectural, structural, M/E/P, and related disciplines.
- Various responsibilities relating to the engineering and entitlement of Russo’s development projects including preparation of permit applications, reports and interaction with government agencies.
- Under the direction of the VP of Engineering and EVP of Engineering & Design, investigate the feasibility and due diligence of potential development opportunities including wetlands, T&E, soils, utility infrastructure, and zoning investigations, as well as conceptual master planning.
- Coordinate with Russo’s construction personnel to resolve conflicts that may arise during site development, review shop and drawings, coordinate construction layout (stakeout).
- BS Degree in Engineering from an accredited school.
- N.J Engineering license strongly preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience, with a strong background in design and construction coordination for large multi-family mixed use projects and industrial warehousing.
- General understanding of land use regulations from various government agencies, including local zoning, site plan, and subdivision ordinances, NJDEP, NJDOT, County and Soil Conservation.
- Experience in the use of civil design features of AutoCAD, Civil3D, drainage pipe, and stormwater management design (HydroCAD), site layouts, site grading, sanitary and water design, soil erosion calculations.
- Applications must be detail oriented
- Experience working on large (5+ acres) development projects.
- Experience with Geographic Information Systems (“GIS”)
