JOB OVERVIEW

 The Area Sales Manager will manage all aspects of group sales for both The Cloudveil and SpringHill Suites, Jackson Hole. This is a crucial individual-contributor role, responsible for presenting these two unique hotel experiences – and the special Jackson Hole destination they inhabit – to prospective clients in order to grow group business and help our hotels meet and exceed RevPAR, guestroom revenue, and food and beverage targets.

Complex Director of Sales and Marketing

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal:  Area Sales Manager, Conference Services, Corporate Revenue Management, and Hotel Leadership Teams 

External: Prospective clients and end users representing all industry verticals and regions, intermediary partners, Marriott Account and National Group Sales Executives, tour and entertainment segment operators, and local partners. 


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Excellent knowledge of hotel facilities, guestrooms, and capacities and dimensions of meeting rooms for both properties

2.  Develop relationships with meeting planners and community leaders

3. Develop relationships with Marriott Account and National Group Sales Executives in order to become a trusted partner to their valued clients

4.  Attend and be a representative for both Hotels at various industry trade shows both locally and globally

5. Develop proficiency in the use of CI/TY, Marriott’s sales and events platform and CRM

6. Create high-quality and accurate proposals and contracts for presentation to clients

7. Facilitate and lead site visits/property tours for prospective clients and industry partners

8. Communicate clearly to the event management team during the turnover process, providing any special hotel arrangements including meeting room set-ups, AV needs, special food and beverage, billing requirements and guest room accommodations per client's requests

9. Prospect for potential group business through the use of various internal reports and external resources

10. Assist with updating hotel sales channel platforms, sales collateral, and internal documents (i.e. contract templates) and resources

11. Collaborate with the Conference Services, Operations, and Food and Beverage departments in creating tailored, high-touch experiences for groups and events hosted at the hotel

12. Collaborate with internal hotel partners and local community partners in facilitating value-added programming and activations made available to guests and Jackson Hole residents

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• College degree or equivalent experience

• 3 or more years of experience in hotel sales, preferably representing hotels in the premium or luxury full service hotel categories

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to manage time effectively, multitask, and meet deadlines

• Ability to effectively liaise between hotel and client, communicating clearly in virtual meetings, over the phone, and via email

• Excellent attention to detail

• Excellent problem resolution skills

• Sales aptitude, building relationships to assist with selling, upselling and re-soliciting business

• Mastery of Microsoft Office
