Food Service Coordinator
Description

Overview

The Food Service Coordinator plans and implements weekly menus for the childcare program. This position also includes the opportunity for additional hours of substitute teaching in the classrooms with various age groups ranging from infants to preschool. You will supervise and maintain safety of the children, interact, initiate, and encourage the children in activities, assist the teacher in planning activities, and nurture and care for the children. This position reports directly to the Site Director.


Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Plan menu using the State guidelines
  • Prepare weekly shopping list using cost effective sources
  • Shop for Groceries and supplies once per week or as necessary
  • Putting groceries away
  • Submitting invoices to Director - upon returning from the store
  • Food preparation, following State Health Standards
  • Serve snacks and lunch to each classroom
  • Cleaning of all dishes, pots, pans, utensils etc.
  • Keeping the kitchen clean and orderly
  • Updating and posting corrected menus weekly
  • Report any maintenance/equipment issues relating to the kitchen
  • Ensure proper meals are delivered to children with allergies, medical concerns, or specific diets
  • Maintain food service, refrigerator, and dishwasher logs
  • Wipe down and clean food service carts at the end of each day
  • Ensure all food kept in the refrigerator is labeled with name and date, if necessary, and remove any expired items
  • Maintain a peanut-free kitchen  
  • Other duties as necessary or assigned by the Program Directors

Qualifications

  • Required: Highschool Diploma
  • Food Preparation and Sanitation Training 
  • Neat and clean appearance
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift up to a 30-pound child


Salary Description
$17.10-18.11 per hour
