Helping Hand is seeking a creative and motivated Digital Media & Podcast Intern to help bring our stories to life. In this hands-on role, you will contribute to every stage of the content-production process. From developing episode ideas and coordinating guests, as well as recording, editing, publishing, and promoting finished content.
You will support both the educational Helping Hand Podcast and the client-led Connection Crew Podcast, helping amplify the voices, experiences, and perspectives of the people we serve.

SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION:
- On-site position, part-time.
- Hourly rate: $20.50/hour (non-exempt)
- Flexibility to work at different Helping Hand sites.
- Availability for occasional evening and weekend assignments, typically averaging one evening per week and one weekend day per month, based on department needs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Produce Engaging Podcasts
- Produce four (4) podcast episodes each month in video and audio formats, including two educational Helping Hand Podcast episodes and two (2) client-led Connection Crew Podcast episodes.
- Set up, test, and operate cameras, microphones, lighting, soundboards, and other audio visual equipment.
- Help develop an annual podcast content calendar and coordinate guests and recording schedules.
- Support podcast episodes, speaking engagements, and presentations featuring the Helping Hand Connection Crew.
- Identify media opportunities that promote Helping Hand's programs, mission, and impact.
Create and Edit Digital Content
- Edit high-quality podcast video content using Adobe Premiere.
- Enhance productions with color correction, motion graphics, transitions, visual effects, and other post-production techniques.
- Edit and mix podcast audio to create clear, consistent, and professional sound quality.
- Transform podcast episodes into short-form videos, promotional clips, teasers, and social media content.
- Repurpose content for multiple digital formats and organize completed materials in a shared content library.
- Stay current on digital media trends, platform requirements, editing techniques, and industry best practices.
Publish and Promote Content
- Create email, website, and digital content supporting podcast launches and episode releases.
- Promote podcast content through social media, email marketing, and other multimedia initiatives.
- Publish completed episodes to Helping Hand's YouTube channel and Spotify account.
- Research additional podcast and digital media platforms that can expand audience reach and engagement.
- Ensure published content is accurate, accessible, appropriately branded, and consistent across platforms.
Support Helping Hand's Mission
- Assist with the planning, promotion, coordination, and execution of fundraising events and organizational activities.
- Provide administrative and project support related to podcast production, digital media, outreach, and other agency initiatives.
- Manage project deadlines and complete assigned materials accurately and on time.
- Participate in workshops, training opportunities, and other skill-building activities.
- Represent Helping Hand's mission, values, person-centered practices, and commitment to an inclusive and equitable workplace.
WHAT YOU BRING:
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Media Production, Digital Marketing, Journalism, Broadcasting, Graphic Design, or a related field.
Experience
- At least two years of relevant experience in areas such as production, editing, marketing, graphic design, sales, customer relations, or administrative support.
- Video-editing experience; Adobe Premiere experience is preferred.
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Additional Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, personal vehicle insurance, and the ability to travel independently to Helping Hand locations and community events.
- Flexibility to work at different Helping Hand sites.
- Availability for occasional evening and weekend assignments—typically averaging one evening per week and one weekend day per month, based on department needs.
- Ability to work in office, community, and occasional outdoor environments.
- Ability to move materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Comfort working within environments that support individuals who may display challenging or physically aggressive behaviors, including during periods of crisis or de-escalation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This position performs a combination of office-based and community-based work and regularly uses a computer, telephone, and standard office equipment.
- The team member must be able to move throughout all HH environments and have the ability to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand at all levels of the organization.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing department needs and occasional travel between HH locations.
- At times, this position requires the individual to work in outdoor environments and may require the ability to transfer materials (up to 20lbs) or other individuals.
