Established in 2023, The Gate Golf Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding access to golf and creating a lasting impact on the Southwest Florida community. Scheduled to open in late 2026, The Gate will feature:
- 175-seat freestanding full-service restaurant
- The Pavilion Bar
- The Gimme - quick service restaurant
- The Bays - a 30-bay state-of-the-art practice range with Trackman technology
- The Gater - an 18-hole putting course
- Jacobsen-Hardy designed 9-hole regulation-length golf course
The Gate is designed to make golf more accessible to families and players of all skill levels, while providing high-quality golf and hospitality experiences at affordable rates.
The bartender is responsible for providing exceptional beverage service while creating a welcoming, energetic, and professional experience for every guest. This role requires strong knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills. The bartender will prepare and serve beverages efficiently and consistently, maintain a clean and organized bar area, accurately process guest orders and payments, and ensure all service meets The Gate’s standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Provide friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable service while creating a positive guest experience.
- Take accurate beverage orders and process payments efficiently using the point-of sale system.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout each shift.
- Follow all recipes, portion controls, presentation standards, and responsible alcohol service guidelines.
- Verify guest identification and comply with all applicable laws and company policies regarding alcohol service.
- Work closely with servers, hosts, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Handle guest questions, requests, and concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when appropriate.
- Complete opening, closing, cleaning, and side-work duties as assigned.
- Maintain proper sanitation and food-safety standards throughout the bar area.
- Contribute to a professional, team-oriented work environment and assist coworkers during high-volume periods.
- Previous bartending or hospitality experience preferred; relevant customer service experience may also be considered.
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and standard beverage preparation techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine focus on guest service.
- Ability to work efficiently and remain composed in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency when preparing beverages and processing orders.
- Ability to handle cash, credit card transactions, and point-of-sale systems accurately.
- Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices and willingness to comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Must be dependable, punctual, professional, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical duties required of the position.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require.
- Any required local alcohol-service certification or permit must be obtained and maintained as applicable.
