Hours for this position are typically:
2nd Shift, Monday-Friday, 2:00pm-10:00pm
*Must be available for occasional overtime on weekends and/or holidays*

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurate receipt, storage, documentation, and shipment of raw materials, components, and finished goods in support of automotive manufacturing operations. This role supports production schedules, customer delivery requirements, inventory accuracy, and compliance with safety, quality, and IATF 16949 requirements by executing standardized shipping and receiving processes.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role operating under the direction of the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Receive and inspect incoming materials, components, and supplies for accuracy and damage
· Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and ASN documentation
· Record receipts in Plex systems and route materials to appropriate storage or production locations
· Communicate any discrepancies, shortages, or damages with Purchasing and Quality
· Prepare, stage, and load outbound shipments in accordance with customer schedules
· Generate shipping documentation including bills of lading, packing slips, and customer-specific labels
· Ensure shipments comply with customer packaging, labeling, and routing requirements
· Move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
· Follow IATF 16949, customer-specific, and internal procedures related to material handling
· Support traceability, FIFO, and lot control requirements
· Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
· Ability to take direction, coaching, and act positively to improve performance.
· Employee is responsible for ensuring all environmental practices are in line with job scope / position. Examples include but not limited to: proper waste disposal practices, reporting of spills, non-compliance to permit, and addressing any improper practices.
· Assumes additional duties as assigned, which may fall outside the primary scope of the role.
ISO / ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (EMS) RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Demonstrate knowledge of the environmental processes and requirements applicable to their role.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
· High School diploma or equivalent.
· 1–3 years of shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
· Basic understanding of shipping and receiving processes in a manufacturing environment
· Ability to read shipping documents, labels, and work instructions
· Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred
· Forklift operation experience or ability to obtain certification
GENERAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
· Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in fast-paced production settings.
· Ability to prioritize and delegate work effectively.

HOURS / SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Monday-Friday; present to fulfill job duties & meet operational demands/support; schedule may vary depending on plant operational needs thus flexibility is required which could include long days & weekends; regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position; position may require travel to meetings, conferences, workshops or other facilities.
