Description

Vermont Cider Company is hiring an Industrial Electrical Technician/PLC Specialist to join our maintenance team on 1st shift. In this hands-on role, you will troubleshoot, repair, and improve highly technical production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a great opportunity for an experienced electrical technician who enjoys problem-solving, working with automated systems, and helping keep production running safely and efficiently. 


Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Thursday | 6:00 AM–4:30 PM

Key Responsibilities 

  • Complete work orders and provide maintenance and electrical support for production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain PLC- and VFD-controlled high-speed production equipment and batch processes.
  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment using precision measurement tools.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Follow plant safety, 5S, and Standard Operating Procedure requirements while completing assigned work efficiently.
  • Analyze process data and support equipment maintenance and continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance tasks to improve equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Use the maintenance management system to document corrective and preventive maintenance, source and issue parts, record equipment issues, and enter inspection or measurement points.
  • Prioritize and self-schedule maintenance work around production needs to support production and maintenance key performance indicators.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and help maintain a safe working environment.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws.

Requirements

 What We Are Looking For 

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Electrical experience required; 3 years of industrial electrical or programming experience preferred.
  • Two-year technical degree and/or licensed electrician credential preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting motor control and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, instrumentation, and other industrial control components preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Ability to identify root causes, propose solutions, and implement repairs or improvements.
  • Ability to perform calibrations, installations, and maintenance of process and analytical instrumentation.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; experience with computerized maintenance management systems preferred.
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience in high-speed packaging or highly automated continuous process environments preferred.
  • Ability to perform mechanical work such as valve replacement, conveyor bearing and chain replacement, motor and gearbox replacement, and lubrication routes.
  • Ability to work overtime, alternate shifts, and provide after-hours support as business needs require.
