Established in 2023, The Gate Golf Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding access to golf and creating a lasting impact on the Southwest Florida community. Scheduled to open in late 2026, The Gate will feature:

  • Oakwood Grill - 175-seat freestanding full-service restaurant
  • The Pavilion Bar
  • The Gimme - quick service restaurant
  • The Bays - 30-bay state-of-the-art practice range with Trackman technology
  • The Gater 18-hole putting course
  • Jacobsen-Hardy designed 9-hole regulation-length golf course

The Gate is designed to make golf more accessible to families and players of all skill levels, while providing high-quality golf and hospitality experiences at affordable rates.


Position Overview

The Outside Services Attendant supports a welcoming, safe, and efficient golf experience from arrival through departure. This position encompasses bag drop, cart, range, and starter duties, with team members cross-trained and assigned across these functions based on operational needs. Working under the direction of the Director of Golf and golf professional staff, the attendant delivers attentive guest service, maintains clean and organized facilities and equipment, and helps keep daily golf activities running on schedule.


Key Responsibilities for Bag Drop Attendant

  • Welcome guests promptly, assist with unloading and carrying golf bags, and direct golfers to check-in, practice facilities, and the first tee.
  • Keep bags organized and secure; coordinate delivery to the correct cart or golfer and handle all personal equipment with care.
  • Offer club cleaning and departure assistance, maintain an orderly bag drop, and turn in found belongings through established procedures.

Key Responsibilities for Cart Attendant

  • Clean, prepare, stage, and replenish golf carts and push carts for daily play; keep cart staging and storage areas organized.
  • Inspect carts for damage and operating concerns; remove unsafe equipment from use and promptly notify a supervisor.
  • Assist guests with cart assignments, bag loading, and operating guidance; communicate cart availability to the golf shop and starter.
  • Retrieve returned carts, check for personal belongings, and follow approved cleaning, charging, storage, and closing procedures.

Key Responsibilities for Range Attendant

  • Prepare and maintain The Bays and designated practice areas, including The Gater; keep hitting stations, seating, and walkways clean and ready for guests.
  • Collect, wash, sort, and replenish range balls using assigned equipment after training and in accordance with range safety procedures.
  • Help guests get started with Trackman and explain basic range use; refer instruction requests and technical issues to the appropriate staff.
  • Monitor ball supplies and equipment condition, reset bays between guests, and coordinate practice-area access around lessons, clinics, and scheduled activities.

Key Responsibilities for Starter

  • Review the tee sheet, confirm guest check-in with the golf shop, organize groups in starting order, and maintain scheduled starting intervals.
  • Welcome each group and explain the course layout, cart guidelines, golf etiquette, and expected pace of play.
  • Coordinate nine-hole and eighteen-hole play, including returning groups, with the golf shop to prevent first-tee conflicts.
  • Communicate delays, late arrivals, and pace-of-play concerns to the golf professional staff; manage schedule changes under their direction.

Guest Service & Team Support

  • Communicate clearly with the golf shop and other departments, provide timely station handoffs, and assist with events and assigned setup or breakdown.
  • Complete opening and closing checklists, maintain a professional appearance, and perform other related duties assigned by golf management.
  • Follow established safety, weather, and emergency procedures; promptly report hazards, incidents, equipment issues, and guest concerns.
Requirements

• Customer service or hospitality experience preferred; previous golf operations experience is helpful but not required.

• Friendly, professional communication and the ability to assist families, beginners, and golfers of all skill levels.

• Dependability, punctuality, attention to detail, and the ability to work cooperatively in an active guest-service environment.

• Willingness to learn golf etiquette, tee-sheet procedures, Trackman basics, and safe operation of carts and range equipment.

• Availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.

• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and perform duties involving extended standing and walking, bending, and lifting or moving golf bags and equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
