BCCS is Seeking a Peer Recovery Specialist for our ATDC Program!

We promote hope and empowerment to persons and families touched by mental illness, substance abuse, HIV and multiple occurring diagnoses, and their related challenges. 


What You'll Do as a Peer Recovery Specialist with ATDC: 

  • Provide peer recovery support services that provide emotional and practical support to maintain client/participant remission 
  • Ensure 100% of all clients will be screened and assessed for social determinants of health (SDOH) needs as part of Peer-Provided Recovery Support Services within 10 days of program entry 
  • Ensure 100% of uninsured clients will be assisted in applying for health insurance and any other appropriate entitlement for which they are eligible within 45 days of assessment and ICP creation. 
  • Assist the clients in gaining entitlements and accessing resources within the community 
  • Provide guidance and assist clients in overcoming barriers and challenges in their recovery journey 
  • Act as case managers and will assist clients in obtaining resources such as food, vouchers, housing, linkage to employment services, childcare, and social services. 
  • Leads as well as teaches clients how to facilitate their recovery. Educate and empower individuals by assisting them in developing a strong, stable recovery support system 
  • Assisting individuals with self-care and self-awareness, encouragement and support, teaching coping skills and teaching the positive benefits of long-term recovery 
  • Utilizes and teaches problem-solving techniques with individuals and groups.   
Requirements

Qualifications for the position are: 

  • REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED 
  • REQUIRED: Must be a Peer. 
  • BCCS employs a diverse workforce, and we especially encourage applications from those who are in recovery. This position requires that the candidate chosen for it is a peer. BCCS defines a peer as anyone who is in recovery from addiction to drugs or alcohol. 
  • REQUIRED: Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) 
  • REQUIRED: 6 Month’s Experience in Substance Abuse/Mental Health 

Schedule: 

  • Monday: 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. 
  • Tuesday - Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. 
  • Friday: 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. 

Pay: 

  • From $18/hour
  • Commensurate based on experience, education, and certification!
