Schedule: Monday-Thursday 7:00am-5:30pm


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide instruction to a class of up to 12 students at various skill levels
  • Deliver instruction and demonstration in the areas of: Safety, Environmental Awareness and Green Building, Hand and Power Tool Safety, Blueprints, Carpentry Maintenance, Roofing/Drywall/Plaster, Concrete and Masonry Maintenance, Surface Finishing and Sealing, Plumbing Maintenance, Electrical Maintenance, Building Safety Systems and Environmental Control Systems, Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance, and Employability Skills
  • Collaborate with academic instructors to develop project-based learning activities
  • Effectively relate to the student population and recognize student success in the classroom
  • Provide mentorship to create a positive atmosphere and promote student engagement
  • Maintain classroom and testing integrity
  • Complete classroom attendance throughout the day
  • Document student performance, progress, and concerns
  • Maintain adequate classroom cleanliness
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements

Minimum: At least four years of experience in the construction/building maintenance field or a minimum of three years of experience as a certified teacher in a vocational, technical, construction, or maintenance training program. No teaching experience required, however, if candidate is not state certified he/she must have practical experience in the general construction and building maintenance areas.


Preferred: Minimum plus Job Corps experience, Extensive practical knowledge of trade and teaching or classroom management experience.
