We are hiring an experienced Fleet Manager to run the maintenance program for our mobile equipment. This position owns inspections, parts inventory, and work order assignment, and keeps the fleet available and compliant so the plant can run.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the daily operations of the fleet.
  • Perform routine equipment and vehicle inspections, and conduct thorough inspections to identify worn or damaged parts and components.
  • Assign work orders to mechanics to repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems, including engines, fuel systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, and electrical systems.
  • Test-drive vehicles to verify repairs and confirm proper functioning.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
  • Maintain, order, and audit parts inventory.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and kept up to MSHA standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to keep operations running efficiently.

SCHEDULE

  • Monday through Friday
  • Additional hours as operations require

PAY & BENEFITS

  • $115,000 - $125,000 per year, based on experience

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive hands-on experience managing mobile equipment.
  • Understanding of vehicle and equipment mechanics, including the ability to identify when major repairs are needed.
  • Proficiency using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Experience maintaining parts inventory and assigning work orders to mechanics.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fleet or maintenance management experience in mining, aggregate, construction, or another heavy industrial operation.
  • Experience maintaining equipment to MSHA standards.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors in an active industrial plant environment.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
  • Essential job functions performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
