We are hiring a Quality Control Lab Technician to run the hourly and daily tests that tell the plant whether the sand is on spec. This position protects product quality and catches problems before material ships, working closely with plant operations to keep testing accurate and results timely.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct hourly and daily testing of frac sand samples to assess quality and consistency.
  • Prepare samples for analysis, including weighing, sieving, and mixing.
  • Perform particle size distribution, density, and chemical composition testing using laboratory equipment and established techniques.
  • Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments, including sieves, hydrometers, and scales.
  • Record test results accurately in laboratory logs and computer systems.
  • Compile reports on sample analysis and flag any deviation from quality standards to supervisors and relevant personnel.
  • Keep the laboratory workspace clean and properly maintained.
  • Follow safety protocols, company policies, and industry regulations for laboratory practices and quality control.
  • Assist in developing new testing procedures and identifying improvements to testing processes.

SCHEDULE

  • Rotating shifts supporting continuous plant operations
  • Nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

PAY & BENEFITS

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in test results.
  • Proficiency operating laboratory equipment and related software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Dependability, punctuality, and a consistent commitment to safe work practices.
  • Availability for rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous laboratory experience, ideally in a mining or materials testing environment.
  • Familiarity with frac sand testing methods and equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, and work in awkward positions.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
