As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and results-driven professional to join our team as a Senior Accountant.  

The Senior Accountant at AlffCo plays a crucial role in supporting the finance and accounting department by managing key accounting functions and ensuring financial accuracy. This position involves responsibilities such as reconciling sub-ledgers to general ledger accounts, preparing financial statements, and performing monthly financial analyses. Additionally, the role includes monitoring internal controls, assisting with accounts receivable and sales tax filings, managing sales commission calculations, and supporting budget preparation. 

Essential Functions of the Role

  • Reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger account balances  
  • Prepare financial statements  
  • Assess internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas  
  • Perform monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses 
  • Assist AR team prepare recordings and processing receivables as well as cash receipts.  
  • Assist with tracking sales tax/filing sales tax returns 
  • Calculate and manage sales commission programs  
  • Assist in the design and preparation of budgets review by management 
  • Maintain required records, reports, and files in an organized manner  
  • Perform other related duties as directed within the project guidelines established  
  • Use knowledge of local laws to comply with reporting requirements 
  • Monitor any variances from the projected plan 
  • Supervise accounting staff

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Weekends/nights may be required  
Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.  
  • Minimum of 3 of years of prior accounting experience. 
  • Understanding of accounting best practices 
  • Knowledge of IFRS, U.S. GAAP or another accounting framework 
  • Data entry skills  
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously  
  • High attention to detail  
  • Keen organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications 
  • Produce work with high level of accuracy 

Computer Skills

  • Quick learning ability for new database programs, proficient navigation of communication such as proficient knowledge of NetSuite, Microsoft Office applications, Teams, and SharePoint.
