Description
Position Title: Quality Assistant (M.A.)
Department: Quality Department
Reports To: Director of Quality/IP
Exempt: Non-Exempt
Job Summary:
The Quality Assistant is responsible for the administrative tasks within the Quality Department with direction and support from the Director of Quality/IP. The Quality Assistant will assist with the document control process, organizing Quality projects, and managing the filing systems.
Responsibilities
- Support department with document control
- Manage the department’s filing and organizational needs
- Assist with data entry of confidential materials.
- Assist with preparing for committee and council meetings
- Support the Quality Team in researching educational materials on quality assurance and quality improvement results.
- Support the department with Survey Readiness and participate in survey when needed.
- Attend all relevant committee and departmental meetings.
- Serve as a positive, proactive voice for SSH’s Quality Team.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested with a professional and positive attitude, and team spirit.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education, Training, Licenses, and Experience:
- GED required
- Medical Assistant License required
- Minimum of one year of hospital/healthcare experience preferred

- Have strong computer literacy; proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis in Excel and web/data management products
Physical Requirements:
- Use standard office equipment and access, input, and retrieve information from a computer. Use computer keyboard with manual and finger dexterity and wrist-finger speed sufficient to perform repetitive actions efficiently for extended periods of time.
- Communicate effectively in person or via telephone in a manner which can be understood by those with whom the person is speaking, including a diverse population.
- Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing with the use of a step stool and twisting. Lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Sit or stand for minimum periods of one hour at a time. Come and go from the work area repeatedly throughout the day.
- Give and follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Perform complex mental functions and basic arithmetic functions; interpret complex laws, regulations, and policies; collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information.
