Position Summary:

The Respiratory Manager is responsible for the overall clinical respiratory operations as well as the growth and development of a Region. Specifically, this person will provide leadership of the respiratory team of that region and will ensure provision of extraordinary patient care services. The Respiratory Manager will represent AdaptHealth within the community and work collaboratively with health systems, facilities, and physician offices. This position will be responsible for respiratory clinical operations as well as regional sales support and market development. 


Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities: 

  • Ensures consistent administration of, and staff compliance with, all Company and departmental policies and procedures
  • Strives to maintain a respiratory practice with clinical futuristic approach
  • Participates in team and committee activities as requested and team collaboration and coordination of activities
  • Prioritizes team’s work to meet deadlines and project time frames
  • Assigns, schedules, and reviews work of respiratory care staff
  • Establishes, maintains, and evaluates the training program for respiratory care staff
  • Demonstrates new techniques, procedures, and equipment
  • Plans and controls respiratory care services budget
  • Supervises the clinical application of respiratory care treatments and diagnostic procedures
  • Ensures compliance with applicable accreditation, licensing, and quality control standards
  • Prepares reports, statistics, and surveys related to service activities
  • Investigates complaints of patients, staff members, physicians, and other departments, and recommends solutions to problems
  • Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators
  • Operates equipment to ensure specified parameters of treatment such as volume, gas concentration, humidity, and temperature, and to administer medicinal gases and aerosol drugs to patients
  • Monitors patient's physiological responses to therapy, such as vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes
  • Performs bronchopulmonary drainage and assists patient in performing breathing exercises
  • Performs pulmonary function tests to be used by physician in diagnosis of case
  • Consults with physician in event of adverse reactions
  • Assures respiratory inventory PAR levels at their assigned branch are adequate and adjusts, as necessary
  • Reviews and recommends purchase of supplies and equipment
  • Coordinates/Participates in the Bi-annual inventory process
  • Ensures the proper care, maintenance, and use of all assigned equipment
  • Responsible for cleanliness of respiratory areas and equipment in branch and vehicles
  • Assures all documentation is processed by the next business day
  • Assures all clinical plans of treatments are completed annually
  • Meets with outside product representative as needed to assess respiratory equipment needs
  • Provides appropriate seminars and in-services on new products and clinical issues
  • Demonstrates understanding of Accreditation standards and monitors compliance of the Respiratory team at their assigned branch
  • May be asked to aid in gathering certificates of medical necessity in the physician population
  • Understand and maintain balanced focus on most profitable business lines
  • Educates physicians, nurses, case managers, discharge planners, home health agencies and therapists on company products and services, technology, documentation, and reimbursement guidelines as needed
  • Promotes timely communication, timely referrals, coordination of service and communication regarding patients’ response to therapies
  • Acts as a liaison with sales staff and operational staff to assure sales efforts can be supported operationally and clinically with desired outcomes are achieved
  • Responsible for ensuring an effective on-boarding and providing comprehensive training and regular feedback
  • Establishes annual goals and objectives for the department based on the organization’s strategic goals
  • Responsible for achieving organizational performance and retention goals, including timely completion of performance evaluations
  • Retain knowledge of and consistently adhere to procedures for the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), infection control and hazardous materials handling
  • Completes assigned compliance training and other educational programs as required
  • Maintains compliant with AdaptHealth’s Compliance Program
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Management/Supervision:

  • Responsible for selection and hiring of qualified staff, ensuring an effective on-boarding, and providing comprehensive training and regular feedback
  • Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards
  • Establishes annual goals and objectives for the department based on the organization’s strategic goals 
  • Responsible for achieving organizational performance and retention goals, including timely completion of performance evaluations

Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • Associates degree from an AMA approved respiratory program, BS in health-related field preferred
  • Valid and unrestricted C.R.T. clinical license is required in all states serviced by the region 
  • Must be CPR certified
  • Valid and unrestricted driver’s license in the state of residence 
  • Two (2) years direct supervisory experience required
  • Clinical experience - defined as direct patient care involvement including patient therapy monitoring and consulting with physicians on patient care

Salary Description
$75,000-$95,000
