Description

Wright Manufacturing, Inc. (WMI), an award-winning producer of commercial-grade lawn equipment, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Forklift Operator to join our Internal Logistics Team. The Forklift Operator supports Internal Logistics by safely operating both sit-down and stand-up forklifts to move, stage, load, and manage materials and finished goods throughout the manufacturing and warehouse operation.


This is a full-time, non-exempt position, earning overtime at time and one half for hours worked over 40 hours per week. Overtime opportunities may be available, but are not guaranteed. The typical schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 6:00AM-4:00PM. Occasional Saturday work may be required based on workflow.


Primary Duties include:

· Support Internal Logistics by operating LP sit-down and stand-up forklifts safely and efficiently, including support for the Crating Line.

· Manage finished goods inventory for the assigned shift.

· Stage and load mowers, accessories, and parts for FTL and LTL shipments according to the shipping schedule.

· Respond to radio requests from Group Leaders and Team Leaders for sit-down and stand-up forklift support.

· Follow FIFO inventory practices at all times.

· Complete daily inspections of assigned Toyota forklift equipment and report concerns promptly.

· Support 5S methodology (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) and warehouse housekeeping assignments.

· Assist with special projects and rework as needed.

· Participate in Kaizen projects focused on improving Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost.

Requirements

Qualified candidates for the role of Manufacturing Forklift Operator should be able to demonstrate: 

· Extensive sit-down forklift experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is required.

· Stand-up forklift experience is strongly preferred.

· RF equipment experience is a plus.

· Strong attention to detail, organization, and independent work ethic.

· Consistent work history, excellent attendance, and a positive team-player attitude.

· Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment with moderate to high noise levels.

· Ability to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance.

· Ability to successfully pass a forklift skills assessment.
