Accounting Intern

Job Summary:

The Accounting Intern will support the Accounting Department with a variety of day-to-day accounting functions while gaining hands-on experience in a professional work environment. This position will assist with accounts payable and receivable, financial recordkeeping, reconciliations, reporting, and other accounting-related tasks and projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, dependable, and eager to develop their accounting knowledge and skills through real-world experience.


Responsibilities:

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  •  Assist with entering, reviewing, and maintaining accounting data and records.
  • Help organize and maintain invoices, receipts, expense documentation, and other financial records.
  • Assist with account and transaction reconciliations.
  • Support the preparation of reports, spreadsheets, and other financial documentation.
  • Assist with reviewing information for accuracy and identifying discrepancies.
  • Provide support with employee expense reports and related documentation.
  • Assist the Accounting Department with special projects and other accounting-related tasks as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling financial, employee, and company information.
  • Perform general administrative duties in support of the Accounting Department.


Experience:

1 to 3 years of relevant work experience. School experience may be substituted for work experience.


Education/Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
