Description

The Front-End Operations Specialist serves as the business owner and subject matter expert for store front-end operations, including bookkeeping, POS systems, and cashiering procedures. This role partners with Finance, IT, and Store Leadership to ensure accurate, efficient, and consistent execution across all locations. The Specialist supports stores with day-to-day operational issues, manages system defects and enhancement requests, maintains procedures and training resources, and identifies opportunities to improve workflows, standardization, and the Team Member and customer experience. 


This position is located at the Home Office in Bozeman, MT. Must live within a 40-mile radius of the corporate office. 


As a Murdoch’s Team Member in this role, you will …

  • Serve as the business owner and subject matter expert for front-end operations, including bookkeeping, cashiering, POS processes, refunds, exchanges, and operational standards. 
  • Provide operational guidance, issue resolution, and escalation support to stores while promoting consistent execution and adoption of company policies and procedures.  
  • Partner with Finance, IT, store teams, and vendors to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational and system issues impacting front-end functionality. 
  • Support system enhancements, projects, testing, rollouts, and change management activities while maintaining documentation, known issues, and operational workarounds.  
  • Analyze operational performance, audit results, trends, and store feedback to identify opportunities for increased efficiency, accuracy, compliance, and user experience. 
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, implement sustainable solutions, and measure the effectiveness of operational enhancements.  
  • Develop and maintain training resources, SOPs, job aids, and operational documentation that support front-end consistency and effectiveness. 
  • Build strong partnerships across Store Operations, Finance, IT, Purchasing, Marketing, and Human Resources to support business initiatives, advocate for store needs, and enhance the Team Member and customer experience. 
  • Represent front-end operational needs in system projects and business initiatives. 
  • Gather feedback from stores and advocate for solutions that improve the Team Member and Customer experience. 
Requirements

As a Murdochian in this role, you must…

  • 3+ years of experience in retail operations, Office Coordination, front-end supervision, store management, or related operational support roles.  
  • Strong knowledge of retail POS systems, cash handling controls, bookkeeping practices, and front-end operations.  
  • Experience troubleshooting operational and system-related issues.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement solutions.  
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.  
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.  
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and reporting tools.
