Medical Respite Advocate/Driver

City Care is searching for the right person with a knack for seeing great potential in others and 

working as part of a team with the shared goal of motivating change. This Advocate will 

understand the complexity of the intersection of poverty, homelessness, physical/behavioral 

health needs, and substance use for unhoused Oklahomans experiencing complex medical 

needs. 


Requirements

 

Key Responsibilities:


Primary duties upon entry: 

- Transportation of medical respite participants to/from appointments  

- Shift report on medical respite participants  

- Maintain accountability of medical respite participants whereabouts 

- Safety checks/screenings of medical respite participants and their items  

- Specified cleaning duties  

- EVS coordination  

- Laundry coordination  

- Meal coordination  

- Staff and client support where appropriate  

- Maintain supply inventory  

- Coordinate medical respite participant appointment scheduling  

Secondary duties when trained:  

- Wellness checks 

- Medical respite participant intake and orientation  

- Assessments for medical respite entry and exit  

- Connection to services  

Other duties as assigned


Skills & Experience:

- Experience with driving a 12-passenger van, and operating wheelchair lift 

- Understanding of the complexity of the intersection of poverty, homelessness, mental 

illness, substance use and recovery 

- Cool under pressure 

- Computer literate, resulting in error-free data entry 

- Ability to multitask 

- Ability to work as a member of a team to accomplish shared goals 

- High School diploma or equivalent 

- Reliable transportation 

- Pre-employment background check, driving record and UA 


Internal mobility for pay raises and training bonus available upon completion and tenure in

positions.


Salary Description
$17.50
