Bethel Farms is seeking an experienced Director of Operations to provide strategic and hands-on leadership across Logistics, CDL Drivers and Fleet Operations, Maintenance, Warehouse Operations, and Tray Production. This leader will develop people, strengthen processes, manage performance, and ensure our equipment, inventory, vehicles, and facilities operate safely and efficiently.
What You Will Lead
- Provide leadership and accountability for Logistics, CDL Drivers, Fleet, Maintenance, Warehouse Operations, and Tray Production.
- Develop operational plans that support company growth, customer service, quality, safety, and profitability.
- Establish and monitor departmental goals, budgets, key performance indicators, service levels, and productivity standards.
- Lead, coach, and develop managers, supervisors, and frontline employees while reinforcing Bethel's BeThe1 culture of ownership and initiative.
- Partner with executive leadership and the Production, Sales, Finance, Human Resources, and Safety and Compliance departments to coordinate priorities and resolve operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and replacement planning for trucks, trailers, forklifts, warehouse equipment, buildings, and facilities.
- Ensure warehouse receiving, inventory control, order staging, loading, shipping, and housekeeping processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Evaluate warehouse capacity and workflow, address bottlenecks, and prepare the operation for future growth.
- Coordinate tray production schedules and maintain appropriate tray supply and inventory levels.
- Forecast transportation demand and ensure adequate company fleet and outside-carrier capacity.
- Oversee dispatch, route planning, delivery schedules, driver performance, and communication with customers and internal teams.
- Champion consistent use of operational technology, including the company's driver application.
- Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, state, and company transportation requirements in partnership with Safety and Compliance and Human Resources.
- Review operational data to improve productivity, reliability, customer service, safety, and cost performance.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, service levels, and pricing, and provide executive leadership with regular operational updates.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, logistics, supply chain, engineering, or a related field; equivalent operational leadership experience may be considered.
- At least seven years of progressively responsible operations experience, including three years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience leading multiple operational functions, such as transportation, fleet, logistics, maintenance, warehouse, production, or distribution.
- Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA requirements, CDL driver compliance, fleet maintenance, and transportation safety.
- Experience managing budgets, vendors, performance metrics, and process-improvement initiatives.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel regularly between company locations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational systems used for maintenance, inventory, dispatch, fleet management, or reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in agriculture, sod, landscaping, manufacturing, distribution, construction, or a related operational environment.
- Experience managing multi-site operations during periods of organizational growth.
- Commercial Driver's License or previous experience managing a regulated CDL fleet.

Work Environment
This position works across office, warehouse shop, yard and farm. Regular travel between Bethel Farms locations is required. The Director of Operations must also be available to respond to urgent operational needs outside normal business hours when necessary.
