Colleton River Club is seeking an experienced Food & Beverage Supervisor to join our hospitality team in the beautiful South Carolina Lowcountry.


This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional with experience in private clubs, country clubs, resorts, upscale restaurants, hotels, or fine dining who is ready to take the next step in leadership. Candidates with private club experience and ties to the Bluffton, Hilton Head Island, Savannah, or greater Lowcountry area are especially encouraged to apply.

As a Food & Beverage Supervisor, you will help lead daily restaurant and clubhouse operations while creating the warm, personalized service our members expect. You'll work closely with our Restaurant Manager, Clubhouse Manager, culinary team, and service professionals to develop employees, oversee service standards, and create exceptional dining experiences.


What You'll Do

  • Lead and support daily food and beverage operations across our restaurants, cafés, clubhouse dining, banquets, and special events.
  • Create an engaging, hospitality-focused environment for members, guests, and employees.
  • Supervise, coach, motivate, and develop front-of-house team members.
  • Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate daily service expectations, Club information, menu details, and training topics.
  • Maintain high standards for fine dining, casual dining, beverage service, and member service.
  • Work closely with the culinary team on menu knowledge, food and wine pairings, service standards, and special events.
  • Assist with employee scheduling, attendance, training, onboarding, and performance accountability.
  • Monitor labor, operating expenses, inventories, and departmental costs.
  • Oversee POS closeouts and ensure accurate daily operating procedures.
  • Maintain beverage, china, glassware, silverware, and service inventories.
  • Support banquets, member events, private functions, and high-volume Club experiences.
  • Proactively interact with members and guests, resolve service concerns, and ensure an exceptional experience.
  • Maintain Club standards for cleanliness, sanitation, safety, uniforms, presentation, and facility appearance.
  • Partner with Club leadership to continuously improve service, employee engagement, and the overall member experience.

What We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate is a hospitality professional and hands-on leader who enjoys being on the floor, developing people, and creating memorable experiences.

Preferred experience includes:

  • Food & Beverage, Restaurant, or Hospitality supervisory/management experience.
  • Private club or country club experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in fine dining, upscale restaurants, luxury resorts, hotels, or high-end hospitality also highly valued.
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations, beverage service, POS systems, scheduling, inventory, and service standards.
  • Experience leading and developing front-of-house employees.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and personalized member/guest service.
  • Ability to remain composed and organized in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
  • Professional appearance, sound judgment, discretion, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Willingness to jump in wherever needed and lead by example.

Schedule

This is a full-time hospitality leadership position requiring flexibility based on Club operations. Candidates should have availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. A typical schedule consists of five workdays per week, with shifts averaging 8–10 hours.


Physical Requirements

This position is active and requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend and stoop as needed, navigate stairs, and lift or move up to 50 pounds. The position may also require driving between Club facilities.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • One year or more experience of dining room/banquet supervisory experience (a plus)
  • Previous experience at a private club or hotel
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Proven track record of spearheading new projects or assigned responsibilities on time and within budget with minimal supervision.
  • Strong, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, including proficiency in clear, concise, and compelling written and verbal communication skills, as well as listening and proof reading
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, strong working knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and internet capabilities
  • Flexibility to work schedule each week to include evenings, weekends, and holidays as per the event calendar
  • Experience with Jonas POS system preferred
