Maintenance Mechanic – NIGHT SHIFT
IF YOU CAN FIX IT, WELD IT, BUILD IT & KEEP IT RUNNING — WE WANT YOU.
Machines break. Production doesn’t stop. That’s where you come in.
York Building Products is looking for a Millwright who knows their way around industrial machinery and isn’t afraid to get dirty, climb high, crawl into tight spaces, and figure out what’s making the equipment tick.
This is a hands-on night-shift position where you’ll be doing what you do best — welding, fabricating, troubleshooting, repairing, and keeping our equipment moving.
WHAT YOU’LL BE WORKING ON
- Welding & Fabrication – Weld pipe, use a torch, fabricate conveyor belts, and build or modify mechanical components.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs – Work on gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, and other industrial machinery. Find the problem and fix it right.
- Preventative Maintenance – Grease equipment, perform oil changes, inspect components, and take care of the little things before they become BIG problems.
- Heavy Equipment – Operate manlifts, telehandlers, skid loaders, and other equipment to get the job done.
- Installation & Mechanical Work – Install, maintain, adjust, and repair industrial equipment and mechanical systems.
- Work at Heights – Safely work from aerial lifts, ladders, and elevated platforms when the job calls for it.
- Keep It Clean – Good maintenance starts with a clean, organized work area.
- Be Ready to Roll – Production doesn't always run on a 9-to-5 schedule, so flexibility, weekends, overtime, and short-notice work may be required.
WHAT YOU BRING
You’re the kind of person who:
- Has proven experience as a Millwright, Maintenance Mechanic, or similar skilled trade.
- Knows welding, pipe fitting, and fabrication.
- Can work on conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, and mechanical systems.
- Can troubleshoot a problem and figure out why the machine isn't doing what it's supposed to do.
- Is comfortable with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment.
- Has experience operating manlifts, telehandlers, skid loaders, or similar equipment.
- Isn't afraid of hard work, heights, confined spaces, or getting a little dirty.
- Pays attention to the details and takes pride in quality work.
- Puts safety first — every repair, every shift.
- Has industrial, manufacturing, quarry, or similar experience.
- Has a welding or Millwright certification? Great! It's preferred, but not required.
- Has a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
NIGHT SHIFT. REAL WORK. REAL SKILLS.
This isn't a sit-behind-a-desk job.
You'll work indoors and outdoors, around machinery, dust, noise, heat, cold, wind, rain, and whatever else the job throws your way.
You’ll be on your feet, climbing, bending, stooping, lifting, and working in tight spaces. You may lift up to 90 pounds and work from aerial lifts, stepladders, and extension ladders.
IF YOU LIKE FIXING THINGS, YOU'LL LIKE IT HERE.
