Description

  

Role: The Mortgage Servicing Specialist is responsible for providing accurate and timely support throughout the life of a mortgage loan. This role researches and resolves borrower inquiries, processes servicing transactions, maintains accurate loan records, and ensures compliance with company and regulatory requirements.


Major Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Respond to borrower and internal inquiries via phone, email, or secure messaging regarding payments, escrow, balances, fees, payoffs, and account activity.
  • Research and resolve loan servicing issues, discrepancies, and account corrections.
  • Process payments, adjustments, reversals, escrow transactions, payoffs and other servicing activities accurately and timely.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of account activity and borrower communications.
  • Follow  applicable servicing procedures, investor guidelines, and regulatory      requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve borrower and loan-level issues.
  • Provide professional, empathetic, and solutions-focused customer service.
  • Process, analyze, and verify Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) cancellations.
  • Manage loss  draft requests to ensure collateral is protected. 
  • Effectively  track paid off mortgages; draft and record releases.

Other Duties 

  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of    Foreign Assets Control

Requirements

  

Experience/Education/Certifications/Licenses

  • Minimum high      School degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-2      years similar or related financial experience. 

Demonstrated Knowledge

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft products.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of Fiserv DNA and Encompass a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Communication Skills

Ability to proactively respond to members/employees to problem solve based on guidelines; written communications are based on templates but can be modified.  

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit and stand; answer calls; operate computer; interact with internal employees and members on the phone; travel to designated offices; lift up to 20 lbs.

The starting salary range for this position is: $26.00 -30.00/hour. This range reflects the base starting salary for this position. We have other benefits associated with this position which include: low-cost medical (as low as $20 a paycheck), dental insurance, vision insurance, quarterly bonuses, generous vacation and sick time hours, paid leave options, up to 6% 401k contribution, and tuition reimbursement
