Facilities Deep Cleaning Technician

We're looking for a dependable, hardworking Facilities Deep Cleaning Technician who takes pride in seeing a job done right. This position goes beyond routine housekeeping and focuses on detailed, hands-on deep cleaning throughout our campus, including floor care, power washing, kitchens, bathrooms, walls, fixtures, and seasonal cleaning projects.
- Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
- Hours: 6:00 AM–3:00 PM or 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 50–100 lbs. and regularly bend, twist, reach, kneel, climb ladders, and remain on your feet for extended periods
- Equipment: Regular use of commercial cleaning equipment, including machine floor scrubbers, power scrubbers, and power washers
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of Janitorial Experience with commercial cleaning, floor care, custodial, or facilities experience. High school diploma or GED required.
What You'll Do
As a Facilities Deep Cleaning Technician, you'll be responsible for scheduled and as-needed deep cleaning projects across Heartspring's campus and residential group homes. Unlike routine daily housekeeping, this position focuses on the detailed projects that require additional time, equipment, and attention to keep our facilities looking their best.
Floor Care & Equipment
- Operate commercial machine floor scrubbers, auto-scrubbers, and other floor-care equipment
- Strip, wax, refinish, and maintain hard-surface flooring
- Deep clean floors throughout hallways, kitchens, common areas, and residential spaces
- Safely operate cleaning equipment and use chemicals according to manufacturer instructions and Heartspring safety standards
Bathrooms & Kitchens
- Deep clean and disinfect bathrooms, including floors, walls, fixtures, and high-touch surfaces
- Power wash bathrooms and other designated wet areas
- Perform detailed cleaning of kitchen floors, walls, equipment surfaces, and other assigned areas
- Address buildup and areas requiring cleaning beyond routine daily maintenance
Detailed Cleaning
You'll tackle the areas that often require extra attention, including:
- Doors and door frames
- Walls and vertical surfaces
- Windows and interior glass
- Ceiling fans
- Knobs, handles, and hardware
- Vents and grilles
- Fixtures and high-touch surfaces
- High and hard-to-reach areas
Exterior & Special Projects
- Power wash porches, entrances, walkways, and designated exterior surfaces
- Assist with seasonal deep-cleaning projects
- Complete special cleaning requests throughout campus
- Support campus-wide cleaning and beautification projects
- Move equipment, supplies, furniture, or other items as needed to complete assigned work

This is an active, physically demanding position, so we're looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work and is comfortable staying active throughout the workday. The ideal candidate will:
- Take pride in maintaining clean, safe, and well-kept spaces
- Have strong attention to detail and notice areas others may overlook
- Be dependable and able to complete assigned projects with minimal supervision
- Be comfortable working independently and as part of the Facilities team
- Follow established safety procedures and instructions
- Safely use commercial cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment
- Be comfortable working throughout multiple buildings and residential environments
- Be willing to work both indoors and outdoors depending on the project
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be able to safely lift and move 50–100 lbs.
- Ability to frequently bend, twist, reach, push, pull, squat, and kneel
- Ability to climb and work from ladders while completing cleaning tasks
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
- Ability to safely push, pull, and maneuver commercial floor-cleaning equipment
- Comfortable operating a machine floor scrubber and other commercial cleaning equipment
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
- Commercial cleaning, custodial, janitorial, floor-care, or facilities experience preferred
- Previous experience operating floor scrubbers, power washers, or similar commercial equipment preferred
Pre-Employment Requirements
Because Heartspring serves children and young adults in a school and residential environment, employment is contingent upon successfully completing all required pre-employment screenings. Candidates must be able to successfully complete:
- Criminal background and registry checks
- Kansas DCF required screenings and clearances
- Drug screening, pre-employment physical
- Physical abilities/lifting assessment
