Position Overview

The Associate Director or Senior Director, Market Access Transformative Solutions must demonstrate deep institutional knowledge of the pharmaceutical marketplace, including payer, GPO, and formulary and pricing strategies. This role requires expertise in the U.S. payer landscape, reimbursement structures, market access policies, and regulatory trends that shape commercialization. The position provides analytical thought leadership and consultation, translating complex healthcare data into clear recommendations that drive contracting, discount, and rebate optimization, and transform insights into actionable outcomes.


Responsibilities include leading advanced analytics solutions that support market access decisions. As the primary consultative contact for major pharmaceutical clients, the role emphasizes data-driven strategies, standardized architectures, and delivery of self-service insights. As expertise is demonstrated, responsibilities expand to broader leadership across teams, initiatives, and additional client engagements in close alignment with the leadership team.


The position also highlights strong business and domain leadership; structured mentorship and cross-functional collaboration are key to driving ongoing growth and accountability. Technical skills required include advanced proficiency with Excel, Snowflake, Dataiku, BI tools, and AI/ML frameworks. Experience designing modular data architectures and cloud-based workflows (AWS or Azure) is essential, in addition to integrating and analyzing complex datasets such as; prescription demand, patient claims, formulary/access, inventory/supply, provider, and financial systems. Mastery of data treatment, enrichment, mapping, and feature engineering is key to enabling high-quality analytics outcomes.


Roles & Responsibilities


Market Access Strategy and Analytics

  • Lead analytic and modelling initiatives that inform payer segmentation, contract evaluation, rebate design, and targeting strategies.
  • Apply advanced AI/ML methods to generate actionable insights—such as identifying high-value payer or provider segments, forecasting shifts in access, and quantifying contract performance.
  • Define and monitor measurable KPIs and evidence-based criteria to ensure analytic quality, transparency, and business impact.

Client Engagement and Solution Demonstration

  • Engage clients to define analytics needs, clarify business objectives, and align deliverables to specific market access priorities.
  • Lead solution design and demonstrations, articulating capabilities clearly during presentations, proof-of-concept sessions, and customer solution evaluation.

Leadership and Team Management

  • Provide thought leadership and strategic direction to enhance team performance, solution impact, and client value perception.
  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary analytics teams including data engineers, data scientists, BI developers, and analysts.
  • Define milestones, monitor progress, and provide structured feedback to support the technical and professional growth of team members.
  • Ensure projects are delivered within scope, quality, and timelines while proactively identifying and resolving potential challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Inspire and motivate the team by modelling best practices in analytics development, validation, documentation, and presentation—optimizing operational efficiency and ensuring delivery of high-impact insights that inform critical client decisions.

Solution Architecture and Deployment

  • Design and oversee analytics-ready data layers, integration workflows, and feature engineering to power scalable dashboards and actionable insights.
  • Manage the full data lifecycle—from acquisition to analysis—ensuring rigorous validation, documentation, and data governance standards.
  • Build modular, reusable, and scalable data processes that adapt efficiently to evolving business and compliance requirements.

Data Domain Expertise

  • Integrate and manage structured data assets across key categories: Third-Party Prescription Demand Datasets: e.g. IQVIA Xponent PlanTrak, SHA PayerSource. Patient Claims Datasets: e.g. IQVIA LAAD, Komodo, DRG/Clarivate or equivalent longitudinal claims data. Formulary & Access Datasets: e.g. MMIT, DRG/Clarivate (formulary and access nomenclature). Provider & Payer Master Data: HCP and Hospital Account Master, Payer Hierarchy (Payer Spine). Contracting & Financial Data: PBM portal data, Chargeback data, Model N systems.
  • Apply standardized data cleaning, enrichment, and mapping to ensure analytics-ready data layers.
  • Ensure data completeness, integrity, and accurate cross-linkage for robust, relevant analysis.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Finance, Forecasting, Brand Insights, Field Operations, Market Access Strategy, and Pricing & Contracting to ensure deliverables align with integrated business and operational goals.
  • Promote consistent analytics methodologies, shared insight frameworks, and collaboration standards across teams to strengthen decision quality and actionability.

Required Skills


Domain Expertise

  • Proven experience in pharmaceutical market access analytics, with hands-on familiarity across key commercial data domains.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. payer, provider, and access structures, including regulatory and business processes that shape reimbursement and coverage dynamics.

Technical Proficiency

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Snowflake, Dataiku, BI tools, and AI/ML frameworks for applied analytics.
  • Experience designing modular data architectures and implementing cloud-based analytics workflows using platforms such as AWS or Azure.

Business Acumen

  • Demonstrated ability to align analytical findings with strategic business objectives, including contracting success, revenue impact, and access optimization.
  • Proven record of leading projects to completion with defined milestones, measurable results, and clear commercial value.

Client Communication

  • Skilled in translating complex analytics into structured, business-focused communications—from requirements gathering, solution iteration through insight generation, presentation storyboard and stakeholder alignment.
  • Demonstrated success delivering client-facing data narratives and executive-level recommendations that influence decision-making and strategic planning.

Preferred Experience

  • At least 10 years’ experience in pharmaceutical market access analytics or related roles.
  • Proven leadership of technical or cross-functional analytics teams.
  • Track record of delivering commercial analytics products, reporting solutions, or self-service dashboards end-to-end.
  • Direct experience with RFP solution design, capability demonstrations, and presenting analytics to clients or executives.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a quantitative, business, or life sciences discipline; higher degrees or certifications (e.g., data science, analytics, healthcare management) preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate, harmonize, and analyze large, complex datasets—such as prescription demand, patient claims, formulary/access files, provider/account masters, and contracting/financial systems.
  • Advanced skill in data treatment, cleaning, enrichment, mapping, and feature engineering for analytics readiness.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and optimizing analytics on modern tech stacks, including cloud (AWS or Azure), data warehousing (Snowflake), workflow automation (Dataiku), and BI/dashboarding tools.
  • History of translating analytics into actionable recommendations for market access, contracting, rebate strategies, or commercialization.
  • Strong project management: scoping requirements, milestone tracking, risk management, and on-time/on-budget delivery.
  • Knowledge of U.S. payer landscape, reimbursement, pricing, payment structures, market access policies, and regulatory trends.
  • Demonstrated excellence in client engagement—clarifying needs, aligning analytics with business decisions, and securing team-client collaboration.

Bonus Skills

  • Expertise in deploying analytics on AWS or Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical consulting or healthcare analytics services.
