REPORTS TO: EVP/CFO
The finance department is looking for an individual to assist in the development and maintenance of reliable accounting information concerning income, expense, assets, liabilities, and capital, as a basis for management planning and decision making, and for the fulfillment of financial reporting requirements.
Who We Want:
Champion of Growth –
- Performs additions, deletions and transfers to the Bank’s stockholders register, and prepares the appropriate stock certificates when necessary; prepares and mails the semi-annual stock dividend to the stockholders and the shareholder mailings and shareholder proxy tabulations for the shareholder meeting
- Responsible for preparation of budgets, periodic analysis of budget variances, monthly financials reports for the Board of Directors and officers
- Performs quarterly A/L model analysis
- Assists with the preparation of the Bank’s annual report
Industry Expert –
- Excellent accounting and communication skills
- Extensive knowledge of financial accounting principles and software
- Responsible for reporting quarterly tax accruals and quarterly tax estimates
- Performs all general ledger entries for purchases, sales, calls, and monthly accruals for investment portfolio and prepares all post entries
- Pledges securities for public deposits, prepares resolution and security bond for public deposits
Analytical Thinker –
- Responsible for compiling, figuring, generating reports, and preparing the quarterly Bank Call report for submission to the FDIC
- Ability to input all fixed assets into the software system monthly (additions, transfers, deletions) and balance subsidiary accounts to general ledgers and perform annual and quarterly inventory of all fixed assets
- Ensures that our current accounting procedures follow generally accepted accounting principles
- Responsible for compiling, figuring, generating, and preparing the quarterly QCR report for submission to the Federal Home Loan Bank
- Develops and implements policies to streamline accounting procedures
What You'll Do:
General Ledger and Financial Accounting:
- Maintain the general ledger of the Holding company, the Bank and all subsidiaries
- Assist with month-end closing
- Performing necessary reconcilements and settlements
- Oversee the Bank’s fixed assets
Investment Portfolio Accounting:
- Record necessary transactions for the Bank’s investment portfolio, including purchase, sales and maturities
- Reconcile the investment portfolio to subsidiary ledgers
- Maintain investment accounting files
Shareholder Administration:
- Maintain shareholder records, including processing stock transfers and issuing new certificates
- Recommending and managing dividends
- Respond to shareholder inquiries
Regulatory and Financial Reporting:
- Prepare necessary regulatory reports, including but not limited to the Call Report, FR Y-6, FR Y-9, and QCR
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for the Bank’s Board of Directors, including performance reports, financial statements, trend reports and capital monitoring
- Research and explain budget variances, including reporting on the Bank’s core income/expenses
- Analyze, prepare, and present the Bank’s ALCO reports to the appropriate committees, including interest rate risk monitoring
Capital Management:
- Monitor the Bank’s capital position, including risk-based capital and leverage ratios.
- Perform capital stress testing
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist with the preparation of the Bank’s annual budget, including facilitating data gathering
Audit and Examination Coordination:
- Assist with the coordination of internal and external audits
- Respond to auditor/examiner data requests

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Certified Public Accountant designation preferred
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Highly proficient with accounting software
