Position Summary
The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA/COTA) works under the supervision of a Licensed Occupational Therapist to provide treatment that improves patients' independence, safety, mobility, cognition, strength, positioning, and ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs).
This role collaborates with patients, families, physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary care teams to deliver exceptional rehabilitative care while maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy treatments according to the plan of care established by the Occupational Therapist
- Monitor patient progress and communicate updates with therapists, families, and facility staff
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care plan conferences
- Educate patients, caregivers, and nursing staff on restorative and functional maintenance programs
- Complete treatment documentation, progress notes, daily billing, and other required records accurately and timely
- Assist with discharge planning and transition of care activities
- Recommend adaptive equipment and interventions that support patient outcomes
- Participate in facility in-service programs and staff education
- Maintain productivity standards while delivering high-quality patient care
- Support occupational therapy student and clinical education programs as assigned

Qualifications
- Active Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based healthcare environment
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
Preferred
- Experience in Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), post-acute care, long-term care, or rehabilitation settings
- New graduates are encouraged to apply
