Ironworker

Job Summary
The Ironworker is responsible for building, reinforcing, and securing the steel framework in construction projects. They will be able to safely and accurately work at heights and work with heavy tools and equipment. Acadian Contractors, Inc. maintains a continuing policy of non-discrimination in employment. Key Responsibilities
- Ability to read drawings, understand layouts, and follow directions precisely.
- Erect, position, align, bolt, and secure structural steel and metal components.
- Working with cranes and rigging crews to guide steel accurately during lifts.
- Aligning, bolting and welding steel pieces so the structures come together in accordance with plans and RCSC standards.
- Preparing and securing loads for hoisting.
- Communicate clearly with operators.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in steel erection or structural fabrication.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards is required.
- In-depth knowledge of rigging equipment and cranes.
- Must be able to meet all physical requirements of the job.
- Must have all required personal tools.
- Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (up to or exceeding 200 feet).
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Available to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by project needs.
