The Browning Service and Distribution Center, located in Arnold, Missouri, is searching for a full-time Journeyman Gunsmith to join our team and provide top-notch service to our customers.
We are looking for an experienced gunsmith to fill a full-time position with full benefits. Training support is also available, as we are looking for someone who strives to continually improve themselves and seek new knowledge and skills. We value exemplary customer service skills above all else.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Install parts such as metallic, plastic, rubber, wood, pistol grips, and recoil pads.
- Mount and boresight scopes.
- Test-fire firearms for function and/or accuracy.
- Document shot pattern or group sizes.
- Blue metallic parts.
- Operate various machines to grind and polish metal parts.
- Operate power and hand tools to repair firearms.
- Fit and re-crown barrels.
- Properly utilize machines, tools, and personal protective equipment.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Job Requirements
- Must have gunsmithing experience.
- Must have advanced firearm knowledge.
- Must be proficient with basic computer skills.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must be at least a high school graduate.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education
Completion of a formal 1–2 year accredited in-house gunsmithing program, with proof of completion.
Physical Demands
- Employee must possess the physical requirements necessary to perform the gunsmithing activities listed above.
- Employee must be physically able to stand, walk, and/or sit for periods of time.
- Employee must be able to comfortably lift up to 25 lbs.
